Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies are asking for help in locating a south Sacramento woman who has been missing since September.
Bao Sun, 38, was reported missing from her Blackhawk Drive home Sept. 12. When her husband reported her missing, it wasn't considered an "at-risk missing person" case, Sgt. Tim Curran stated in a news release.
Since then, Sun's vehicle and personal items have been recovered, which have led investigators to think Sun may be at risk, he said.
Sun is described as 5-feet-7-inches, 110 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a checkered, long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, Curran said.
Anyone who has seen Sun or knows her whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's department at (916) 874-5115.
Comments about the story on the newspaper's website:
heard from a different media source that she owns a business in the bay area and that she travels there frequently and will be gone for weeks at a time. It is not against the law for an adult to go missing as they are free to leave at any time. It became an at risk situation when her car was found abandoned at a strip mall in Sacramento and her drivers license was delivered by the post office to her house. Again, I heard this through another media source so how much of it is true depends on their info. That would be why it took a month. I do think that it appeared that the authorities acted quickly once the possibility of foul play was there.
and
Bao Sun was reported missing , by her husband on Sept. 12, 2007. That is when the police should have gotten to work on the case.
(I wish the article would have described her ethnicity. I assume she's Asian, but that's just an assumption. Maybe she's half Asian? I don't know. Is she Chinese? Vietnamese? Hmong? Korean? More detail would certainly be helpful.
