God bless and keep everyone. I've seen some photos on CNN, and it doesn't look good.
Saying that the weather could not have been better for flights today.
Asiana #214 From Seoul to San Fran. Unknown number of souls on board, unknown number of survivors.
Witness: good day, good landing, nose went pitched up, when plane touched ground, heard pop, saw a fireball, saw the plane cartwheel, one wing being knocked off then the other. Some emergency slides were deployed.
Doused smoke and fire, first responders starting to go through debris. No declared emergency, no first responders waiting.
(Per CNN)
Per me: hasn't the 777 had some electrical or other trouble recently?
Also, some vids are coming in, but so far, there's not been any release (if caught) of the actual landing and mishap. There may be CCTV at some point, though.

ETA: Per Jim Tillman, CNN: seems to have had a very nose high attitude while landing; tail strike, then fireball, then cartwheel. Pilots may have been trying to glide plane in.
Eyewitness says that when wheels touched, they seemed to twist, then the plane rocked back, and then farther back, and then the tail came off and then the cartwheel and wing destruction.
BTW, here is the article I was thinking about re: plane trouble

God bless and keep all souls on board, and all witnesses, first responders, and all involved. Horrific to see.
