GUILTY CA - Carrie Melvin, 30, ambushed & killed, Hollywood, 5 July 2015

This is an odd turn of events. It's not like she is some big wig movie executive, wonder what type of financial dealings someone at her age/occupation level could have (unless drug related which doesn't seem applicable with the details provided thus far).

I missed this thread earlier. My son is here in New Orleans for the weekend, and he just told me this happened a couple of blocks from his apartment in Hollywood. What a damn shame!

I'm gonna guess it could be related to his shoe line.

Such a sad ending to a smart, beautiful young woman's life. :rose:

Greetings WebSleuths!
The Trial in Carrie Jean's murder is over now,
the dude arrested + charged was found guilty.

I usually post in the alleged kayak murder case regarding Vincent Viafore's death, but I wanted to chime in on this case here, because I was called by The Prosecution to testify in the Trial involving Carrie Jean's convicted killer.

Here's a link for anyone interested:

Businessman gets life in prison for shotgun murder of a woman on a Hollywood street

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-hollywood-shotgun-murder-20170605-story.html

The last time Bernard Melvin heard from his daughter Carrie, she was calling him to wish him a happy birthday.

Weeks later, her father received unimaginable news.

Carrie had been killed by a man who fired a shotgun blast at her face as she walked with her boyfriend to a Thai restaurant in Hollywood.

On Monday, Bernard Melvin stood in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom moments before the man convicted of his daughter’s murder was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
