Nothing, but this is the new "normal". People go out and do dumb things, and if they survive it, they go on publicity tours and sign book deals. That's what the feminist lawyer is for, future profits. Little does the family realize that Allred will be cutting into those profits to the tune of about 50%.

Think about it....GMA, The View, Dr. Phil, Oprah, movie studios, book publishers, .............all lined up with their checkbooks in hand. It wouldn't be fair to make Dianna deal with all of them herself, so Gloria Allred shows up to manage things and help spread the wealth, most likely on a pro-bono basis.

So is Robert the son not giving his step sisters any updates on his mothers condition? I noticed on the Facebook page there were pleas for information to him and also people saying that Gloria is HIS lawyer, as opposed to saying she's Diannas lawyer?

I doubt Gloria Allred's services are pro-bono....movies & books have payouts that could be very high, I'm sure she will get her cut.

When the first news of their disappearance broke, I thought they were not married due to her having a different last name since it is not that unusual to see older couples live together for many years who never bother to marry. Over the years, it is just assumed that they were until a death occurs. No legal rights for his partner.

The older generation usually put all property assets in the man's name. If they were not legally married, the assets could go to his children.

Children on both sides fighting for assets. A friend of mine lost all her deceased mother's assets including pictures when her deceased husband's children took control of the estate and would not share.

IMO you don't hire Gloria Allred for a dispute over a will/property. I think that someone is planning on suing someone they think is responsible, i.e., the people who were looking for her, the car maker, etc. Not that I think anyone/anything like that was to blame, but (again, IMO) using Gloria Allred means that they are suing someone that they think can make them rich.

You're right, I meant to say a contingency basis..............maybe I should stop typing things at 5:30 in the morning.

Yup, Allred shows up when there's publicity to be had or a story to be told. If someone terrible / weird happened to me that made me infamous or something, I would love the opportunity to tell her to F-off.

I suppose IF they were subscribing to GPS services, Dianna could sue them and then maybe Hyundai. I mean, I can't think of who else might be culpable. The city, for not having signs? Or the reservation, for same? That doesn't make sense, but I'm just spitballing.

I think Paul and Dianna were viewed by the public as pretty sympathetic characters up until a week ago. But if the family decides to get a mouthpiece on board like Allred and she starts threatening to sue here and sue there, I think the public sympathy is going to dissipate rather quickly.

I think this is commonly known as "shooting yourself in the foot".

Funeral services are scheduled next month at Riverside National Cemetery for an elderly man who was missing two weeks with his wife until their stranded car was found in the mountains of San Diego County.

Off-roaders found the body of 79-year-old Cecil Knutson on May 24 near a Boy Scouts camp on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation about 65 miles northeast of San Diego. Services are set for 10:15 a.m. July 10 at the military cemetery at 22495 Van Buren Blvd.

Knutson’s 68-year-old wife barely survived. Dianna Bedwell was severely dehydrated and spent part of her hospitalization in intensive care, but has been released.

The update on the Fullerton couple — who went missing while en route to a La Quinta Mother’s Day dinner — was provided Friday, by attorney Gloria Allred.

“Diana still has a long road ahead of her because of her grief about the loss of her husband of 27 years and because she is still in recovery,” Allred said in a written statement.

Dianna Bedwell Knutson and her husband Cecil went missing on Sunday May 10, 2015 after leaving a San Diego area casino and heading toward Dianna's son's home in La Quinta, California to celebrate Mother's Day.

We know now, the couple took what they thought was a shortcut and ended up stranded in mud and without cell phone service on a rural Indian Reservation. Family contacted police and filed a missing persons report. Media reports on television, radio and social media put out their description, but to no avail.

Finally, on May 24, 2015 after having been missing for 2 weeks, a dirt bike rider came upon the missing car. Dianna was inside the car, barely alive. Her husband Cecil was found outside the car, dead.

After Dianna was rescued, she was hospitalized and in intensive care and then finally moved out of intensive care. However, she remained hospitalized.

Recently she was transferred to rehab and today her attorney, Gloria Allred says she's has been released from rehab and finally is able to go home. "Dianna still has a long road ahead of her because of her grief about the loss of her husband of 27 years and because she is still in recovery. Her family is overjoyed that she is now home and she will continue to have their love and support," says Allred.

Services for her husband Cecil will be held on July 10, 2015 at 10:15 am at Riverside National Cemetery at 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA He will be afforded military honors for his service to our country as a U.S. Marine.
