Someone here was helping me try to get Claire Christie into the NAMUS system. Can't remember who it was I was talking to. The emails here automatically delete it seems so my old mail with whom it was is gone. Id really like to talk to this person again. I think it may have been Rain. She was a beauty and looked like a fun person. In viewing these, I would say Sandy T. resembled Claire a bit in looks. Two very pretty ladies who did not deserve to die at the hands of that man.

I was hoping to have your Mom put in Namus. After reading about Ernie and the boating accident I have to wonder if she was even on that boat. Even if she was on the boat, is there still possibility that her remains may have washed up some where. She would not be the first missing at sea person on namus.There are lots of unidentified people out there just waiting for someone to give them back their names. I just haven't had enough information to give them on your mom so they can cross reference her. Maybe if you are will you could help get her in the database. Maybe you or Her sisters could give DNA or maybe someone has some old Dental Records.

The Coast Guard diver who gave a statement to the Times Standard newspaper said that he was unable to search the engine room but that it was unlikely she was in there because it was locked. The thing is: I grew up on these fishing boats. No one locks the engine room. Ernie never did. It's important, at sea, to always have access to the engine in case of emergencies. I'm convinced he murdered her to keep her from leaving him. She had secretly saved up money. He used that money to buy the f/v Ben-Ray and changed the name to Claire Louise.
I'm not familiar with NAMUS. It just touched my heart that someone else in the world knows her name and thinks she deserves the truth to be told. I suppose that's my job, but, as you can imagine, her death and my years at his mercy have all been overwhelming for me, for years.

I believe he killed her too, Sadly. And I am truly sorry you lost your mom. It Sucks.

However is it possible he left her body off the coast somewhere and just claimed she was in the boat. to make it not murder. Maybe leaving her in the boat was risky to be found even with a locked engine room door. Or she could have washed up somewhere after the boat decomposed after years in the water. It would be good, I think to at least have her in this Namus site for the missing and unidentified. Here is a link to the missing peoples site. Or here is a question. Did the engine room lock from the inside? if so why did no one ask why she locked herself in the engine room? Oh that's right they think her body drifted off at sea they did not think she in there. Yet they themselves in Authority in CA, never added her to any missing database, Why not? And she doesn't seem to have been given a death certificate either, So why? This is why she needs to be in the system in my opinion. Seems her death be it accidental or murder they seemed to have dropped the ball on giving any kind of closure to you and the rest of her family.

1978-1983. What was going on for these years is unknown. rumors say he did Jail time but haven't been able to access any of those records. Not even on Instant Checkmate.

1984 - Ernie's father Ernest Samuel Christie Sr dies in February 1984

1985 - 87 Possible that the incident with "Peppermint Patty" and the Redwood Tree happen during this time. Unable to confirm.

1988 - April 8 1988 Sandy is reported missing after a week of no contact, by family. Decides to keep Sandy Turpin as a Hostage, Beats and abuses her and ultimately kills her in what is said of June of that year. This will not come to light until Feb-Apr 2010.

I wonder if Ernest Christie Jr. could have been involved in the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker murders starting in Feb, 1972. This person responsible probably knew the dumpsite areas well enough to be comfortable going there. Carolyn Davis, one of the young ladies, was last seen at a ramp along Hwy 101 at Garberville, CA. Her body was found on Franz Valley Road outside the city of Santa Rosa.

Another case that remains on the NamUs database belongs to Claire Louise Christie, who was reported by her husband as lost at sea in 1977. That case gained new significance in 2010 when her husband, Ernest Samuel Christie Jr., was posthumously identified as the perpetrator of the 1988 torture and murder of Lysandra Marie Turpin. Christie was also implicated in the torture of several other women who, according to an interview with HCSO detective Steve Quenell in the Times-Standard, he would pick up in Eureka's Old Town and take back to his home in Fieldbrook. One was allegedly brought aboard Christie's fishing boat, where he duct taped her wrists and said she wouldn't be coming back. (She escaped.) Claire Louise Christie's fate may never be known.
