#BREAKING @Caltech @DrLucyJones says magnitude 6.4 #earthquake. Largest earthquake in SoCal since 1999. Says 4.2 magnitude foreshake hit about 30 minutes beforehand. This is a large enough quake that it likely broke to the surface of the earth. Strike/slip fault.

USGS live just said better than 50/50 chance there will be a larger than 5.0 aftershock this afternoon.

LUCKILY the epicentre was out in the middle of the Mojave Desert. It shook hard out there but did very little damage.

If that epicentre had been in downtown LA it would have been a bad outcome.

I felt it the same. It seemed liked it was building rather than a jolt and subsiding. I'm probably 2.5 hours from the epicenter.
