"Found it and lost it again. A post by a cousin (IIRC somewhere on a missing persons page on FB), that Eileen left her house, going to fit a dress because she was going to be her maid of honor. Considered her to be her bff etc. (no validation whatsoever)"

I think I found the FB site. Because it's a missing persons FB site I think it's ok to link it here. Give Me Hope, Bring Me Home We can't sleuth the particular niece, who commented, though.

I have no answers to your other questions. Maybe there is more in this video link about Eileen's case. Also on here they talk about the niece. https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Eileen Francis Hynson&epa=SEARCH_BOX

I mean no disrespect. I am in a group looking into unknown victims of Anthony "Jack" Sully. He was a police officer that turned into a drug dealer/serial killer. Is it possible that drugs may have been involved? Could she have made a trip to pick up some drugs from Mr. Sully to celebrate and met her fate?

The answer depends on the timeline of his crimes. In a quick search I found he was a cop from 1966 - 1974. I don't know why he left LE...already into drugs? Where was he a cop and where did he live in June 1976, the time Eileen went missing. He is accused of (drug fueled) murders that happened in 1983. What did he do in the mean time....? To be honest, I don't "see" her picking up drugs at all, let alone from Mr. Sully, even if the timeline would fit. But the weirdest things can happen.

He lived in the San Francisco area, and what he did in the years afterwards is run an electrical supply warehouse but also sell drugs and attempt to run an escort service on the side. We are trying to find out more. It seems odd he would just make those kills in 1983. We think there might have been more.

The Facebook post: here. You have to scroll down to the comments. I kept it on my website in case it gets deleted. It seems to suggest a last-known location as the poster's address in 1976 but this case has so little information I don't feel confident in it.

I was searching for additional information about Eileen's living situation at the time she went missing and things that could shed a light on some of the discrepancies in the MP files around the place she went missing from. I'm trying to be so considered as possible in relation to the family info.

On this site there is an obituary for her father. Thomas Francis Hynson
California Obituary and Death Notice Archive - Page 802
I attached a file with this information so that you don't have to go all the way through the site.

Notes:
After 1969 (when ending his military carrier in the Marine Corps) he served as a chef at San Francisco General Hospital until 1974, when he moved to Lake Berryessa <Nappa County>
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn, and daughter Eileen.

Eileen's mother, Gwendolyn Marie Harrigan Hynson, died Feb. 14th, 1973, and is burried in Colma, San Mateo County. Gwendolyn Marie Harrigan Hynson (1933-1973) -.... She gave birth to Eileen when she was approx. 24 years old. Eileen was approx. 16 yrs. when her mother passed. Gwendolyn was only 39 yrs.

I found also a divorce record for Eileen's parents dated January 1972, in San Mateo County. If this info is accurate her parents were already divorced before her mother died and could have had impact on the family's living arrangements and Eileen's overall demeanor. I can't help wondering about the reason Eileen's mother died.

The cousin mentioned above is the daughter of one of Gwendolyn's sisters, Eileen's aunt, who passed last year. The cousin is also born in 1957, so I can imagine, having the same age, they were close and she wanted Eileen to be her maid of honor. The marriage eventually went through in absence of Eileen and took place on June 19, 1976 in Solana County. Sadly the marriage didn't last long. I don't want to put in a direct link, but it's all on Familysearch.org. As the aunt was living in Binicia, my guess is, the cousin, being very young, still lived with her family before her wedding. (speculation)

In the Charley P. file is stated Eileen Francis Hynson – The Charley Project

Hynson was last seen in Napa, California on June 1, 1976. She left the residence she shared with her father and brother, en route to a bridal party dress fitting in Benicia, California. She never arrived and has never been heard from again.

The cousin says "She left my home to go home and get ready to go get fit for her gown". The Facebook post: here.

The question is, was she last seen in Napa (the city) or Napa the county, where her father lived in the Lake Berryessa area, (IMO the county) departing for Benicia...or was she with her cousin in Benicia and went home (meaning to Lake Berryessa) and from there to ? Where was the dress fitting going to happen?

Either way something must have happened in between those places.

Namus states "MP left residence she shared with her father and brother to attend wedding in another county. Never arrived. Suitcase was reportedly left at residence. Obvious this is incorrect. As I explained above the wedding was two weeks later. Can't imagine there was another wedding then the one we are talking about.

And than there is this mysterious suitcase.... interesting reflections on the case and the suitcase here: Eileen Francis Hynson

Why was there mentioning of a suitcase to begin with....where is this information coming from? Why would she have needed a suitcase? Why is it relevant? Personally I think this was brought in as some kind of explanation for something non-explainable.....or should I say derail the investigation.....

Always frustrating when you can't even get a rough fix on the person's movements. Theoretically, Eileen could've vanished anywhere between Napa, Lake Berryessa and Benicia. This appears to have 1970s hitchhiker murder written all over it, imo.

Yes, it's very frustrating....I don't think Napa (city) is even an option, Nappa county? yes...it's sounds weird as I explained...also I'm still reluctant to count up every girl missing in that time era as a victim of some kind of serial killer....and yes, it was an epidemic in those days....

I wonder if it was put in there to confirm LE never considered her a runaway unlike so many other missing teens of that era?

TDLR: New lead: a creepy french guy named Stéphane Bourgoin, claimed knowing the killer of Eileen in California. Where should I start ?

Long version :
Hi everyone. I am new here (first post). I just want to say that I think I have a lead to suggest about this case.

There is a guy in France, Stéphane Bourgoin, which is famous because he is a con artist, he pretended for years to be acquainted with serial killers whereas he had no specific training (not a cop, not a psychologist, nothing). He was on tv and everything, sold books, considered by many as an expert. BUT he was finally debunked - it was mostly all false.
What is super weird about this, is that he was super-fascinated, even creepy, when talking about serial killers. He went all the way to claim on facebook that he had the body of a serial killer in a box, and said that he sold body parts (teeth, ears, etc).

So to me, that guy was more than a mythomaniac con-artist, but actually he might be dangerous.

The reason I am posting this here is because he claims that he was in the US, from 1975 to the 90s (?), and in California specifically in the 70s. He claims that the first murder case he was drawn to was a "friend" he was dating, that got brutally murdered. But he never explained properly who was the serial killer (details don't match to anything on record), the only info he did not change, for years, was that this friend name was Eileen, and that she was killed in 1976, in California (!!!). He claims (but that part was debunked by journalists in France) that the serial killer that killed her was arrested in 1978 and that the sheriff allowed him to meet the killer for his own grieving.

I looked online and quickly found this Eileen. My point is : could this Eileen know this French guy? Can we get any detail that could support or deny that claim? Could he have killed, kidnapped, or be involved in her case? Honestly, I thought that he might be telling the truth about "Eileen in California" because the guilt/trauma of doing something bad to her could have made him insane, becoming mythomaniac or something ? Idk, just hypotheses...

I can start getting info if possible, but I guess you guys know better how to deal with this kind of lead (and I'm super busy these days but I couldnt just sit while having this question).

So ... What can I / can we do to investigate that lead?
