CA - Elisabeth Martinsson, 21, Larkspur, 17 Jan 1982

She probably wouldn't be in Namus any longer anyway, the profile would be removed now that she was identified.

I searched NamUs for unidentified white female remains found near trees or wooded areas in San Mateo County. These are the results:
https://identifyus.org/en/cases/10856
https://identifyus.org/en/cases/9681

The doenetwork entry for 10856 has a bit more information: http://doenetwork.org/cases/1200ufca.html

The clothes don't match and the UID has broken bones not mentioned for Elisabeth, so I doubt if it's her.

The other is only a skull, but they did get DNA and it was found in a wooded area, so it's possible.

I also found this woman, who was wearing flower earrings: http://doenetwork.org/cases/356ufca.html
But she's neither in the woods nor in the San Francisco area.

I know the page is going to be taken out of circulation, but it can take a couple of days. So I was hoping.

Glad they've identified her, so sad that both her parents JUST died.

Just to give you guys the lay of the land - she was living and shopping in Marin County, which is NORTH of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge. It sounds like she gave this guy a ride, and they later found her remains SOUTH of San Francisco, somewhere in San Mateo County. I'd love to know exactly where - as soon as I saw this case, I thought of the Gypsy Hill Murders that happened several years previous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gypsy_Hill_killings

Thank you for clarifying that. I was having a bit of trouble figuring it out from the descriptions.

I would really like to know what date the remains were located. Has anyone seen this info?

The remains were found in 2010 and identified in November, 2014. The exact date the bones were found in 2010 doesn't appear in any of the AP releases.

It's pretty obvious that Coleman was involved but LE just can't prove it. His girlfriend, 26-year-old Sabrina Ann Johnson of Seattle, was apparently picked up by Coleman in Seattle before they drove east in Martinsson's vehicle. The remains were cremated and sent back to Sweden, so I doubt if this case will ever be solved without a confession.

The link I posted doesn't work. Here's the same story:

Suspect in cold case killing of Swedish student died in 1988

I was reading it over again and I'm still confused about:

Henry Lee Coleman died Feb. 5, 1988, a Social Security Administration spokeswoman told The Marin Independent Journal. There was no record on where he died or a cause of death.

Is this 100% verifiable? The cause of death I can understand being missing but how do they not know where he died?

If it wasn't entered into the database, they have no way of knowing. But there must be a death certificate somewhere. This is weird.
