Monica Sementilli (R) and her co-conspirators Christopher Austin (C) and Robert Baker (L) appear in a prosecution exhibit during her murder and conspiracy trial for the death of her celebrity hairstylist husband Fabio Sementilli. (POOL/Frederick M. Brown for DailyMail.com)

Just tuned into Court TV, and I think coverage of the trial is going to ramp up more now with important witnesses expected to testify maybe this week, maybe Christopher Austin will testify this week, and eventually Robert Baker sometime.

I haven't been able to follow the trial with full attention, so I can only convey piece meal info of what's been happening in trial that I catch when I tune into Court TV. They keep switching over to different cases and trials, now discussing the Skelton Bros. case.

Gessica Sementilli, Monica's daughter is on the stand testifying now. The Panel says the one statement she made that is important is that both her mother and father knew how to work the security system. It's being said by the panel that Gessica may be known as being pro-Mom. The banner under the Court TV screen at one time said, "Mirella was irate with anger". (oh dear, I forgot who Mirella is) Apparently, Gessica might've seen Robert in bed with Monica at one time.

''Even the Toronto funeral of her murdered husband Fabio Sementilli failed to curtail their hormone-charged hijinks.

The jury in Los Angeles Superior Court has heard that cops retrieved more than 200 sexually graphic photos and videos of Monica and Baker that were found in Baker’s Dropbox account, SD cards and in the widow’s iCloud account.
Prosecutors said that some of the raunchy photos were taken while Monica was in Toronto for Fabio’s funeral.''

One witness described some of the sexual photos and videos. They were very graphic in the details. As graphic as saying the name of the body part, what it was doing and with verbal dialogue enhancements. A lot of back door stuff and master-b on video.

This activity was going strong 3 months after Fabio was murdered.

It was Detective Mitzi Roberts who described details on the below:
  • Over 200 photographs and videos of Monica Sementilli and Robert Baker were found in Baker’s Dropbox Account, SD Cards, and Monica’s iCloud account. Some photos were taken while Monica Sementilli was in Toronto for her late husband’s funeral.
  • Monica Sementilli and Robert Baker exchanged 95 messages through the encrypted app Viber on the day of Fabio Sementilli’s murder. There were 180 messages exchanged between the two the day before. Prosecutors said in the opening statements that there was a failed attempt to kill Fabio while he was out picking up takeout for his family.

I am finding this witness incredibly believable and remorseful. I never really registered the age difference between Austin and Baker and the uncle/nephew dynamic. Obviously he made the decision that he did, but it’s not that often I have a morsel of sadness for a killer.

Court TV panel person is saying that this is the testimony the Prosecution needs to help get a conviction of Monica.

Court TV panelist says "A reluctant witness is more believable", but something about Christopher Austin's testimony seems missing so far. Testimony about him going to Monica's house, and she offers to show him around. He's left hanging out, but panelist says the testimony needs to get to the discussion of the money, and Monica's involvement.

Okay, now Austin is testifying that he walked in on Monica and Baker talking. Baker asked him how much he weighed and said he might be able to "do it", and Austin asked, "Do what?". Now, Austin is explaining that Monica said she didn't like him (Fabio) and wanted him gone. Austin is testifying that the wife (Monica) knew and wanted it done, her husband killed. MOO, this seems to be going in the right direction for the Prosecution. However, he seemed to talk mainly with Baker on the phone in planning to come down to do it.

Baker said there was plenty of money, I can get you anywhere between $30K-$50K told Austin. Baker said the money would come from the defendant, she had money, would have money from the insurance. The plan after was to leave the country. Court TV panel expressing that Austin's testimony is more about Baker plotting and planning, and not enough about Monica's involvement in it.

I am having the same feelings.

Her attorney is cringe. He is being so derogatory with Austin; it feels like a direct assault. He better be careful of racism because that is what it sounds like.

Her bottom lip droop is so fake and unnatural. She must have forgotten about that being a natural reflex for babies and toddlers. No tears either.

She is so guilty moo and I hope the jury gets it right.

Just tuned in. It's been easier the last couple of days to turn on my tv and catch part of this trial. Monica's facial expressions during Austin's testimony are laughable. I guess she's trying to cry or look unfairly accused, but sometimes it comes across as maybe she's painfully constipated or a spoiled meanie.

1741207380914.webp Really like to hear what she has to say. Marie Pereira, a Court TV panel legal analyst, gave her opinion of Austin. At first, she, too, felt sorry for him and thought he got roped into doing a crime he didn't really want to do. NOW, Ms. Pereira says he's an assassin, is faking some of those emotions, and a liar. It's very hard to hear how Fabio Sementilli was killed in the prime of his life.

Monica had to take notes.

This is just my understanding of how Jurors may see this testimony. All that's needed is this witness, Christopher Austin, to testify convincingly that Monica was part of the plotting and planning to kill her husband. Court TV panelists say because most of the directions for the murder were coming from Baker to Austin, it will still be hard for the Jurors to convict Monica of being involved without maybe some doubt.

Austin said "I did it because he told me to."
Yet, that doesn't say Monica knew about the plot and conspired. Baker said she told him Fabio would be on the patio, Baker told Austin she left the door open. However, that still doesn't confirm in the minds of the Jurors this testimony that Monica was taking part in the plan to kill Fabio. MOO, I'm not worried though. I'm just eager to see how it goes when Baker's on the stand trying to say she wasn't involved in the plot to kill. What are y'all thinking?

Alleged murder conspirators seen in photos at crime scene

I decided to read this thread from the start...the fact that Baker was at the memorial sitting next to Monica is so repulsive and diabolical. wow.

I also wonder who took the photo and why. Was it just a random pic or did someone have a gut feeling they should take it.

If I would have read the article first, I would have found out! *face palm*

"48 Hours" has learned that a neighbor took these photos surreptitiously and forwarded them to the police, suggesting that Baker might be a possible suspect. "48 Hours" obtained copies of the photos, which have not been made public previously."
