This is just my understanding of how Jurors may see this testimony. All that's needed is this witness, Christopher Austin, to testify convincingly that Monica was part of the plotting and planning to kill her husband. Court TV panelists say because most of the directions for the murder were coming from Baker to Austin, it will still be hard for the Jurors to convict Monica of being involved without maybe some doubt.

Austin said "I did it because he told me to."
Yet, that doesn't say Monica knew about the plot and conspired. Baker said she told him Fabio would be on the patio, Baker told Austin she left the door open. However, that still doesn't confirm in the minds of the Jurors this testimony that Monica was taking part in the plan to kill Fabio. MOO, I'm not worried though. I'm just eager to see how it goes when Baker's on the stand trying to say she wasn't involved in the plot to kill. What are y'all thinking?

When the prosecutor came back around late today to Austin, she eradicated what Monica’s slimy attorney had been building to discredit Austin. He shook Austin up a good bit. She did a good job of restoring the focus.

View attachment 568426 Really like to hear what she has to say. Marie Pereira, a Court TV panel legal analyst, gave her opinion of Austin. At first, she, too, felt sorry for him and thought he got roped into doing a crime he didn't really want to do. NOW, Ms. Pereira says he's an assassin, is faking some of those emotions, and a liar. It's very hard to hear how Fabio Sementilli was killed in the prime of his life.

Monica had to take notes.

View attachment 568424 She looks seething inside pouty.

Marie said that before the prosecution put things back on track. She may feel differently now.

Just tuned in. It's been easier the last couple of days to turn on my tv and catch part of this trial. Monica's facial expressions during Austin's testimony are laughable. I guess she's trying to cry or look unfairly accused, but sometimes it comes across as maybe she's painfully constipated or a spoiled meanie.

So glad you see her charade’s and I hope others do too. So fake! If she is so angry at Austin, why isn’t she more angry at Baker?

Her expressions are dialed up without missing a beat. Austin says one thing and on cue she makes a face. Not even a grieving individual would make faces on cue.

Her acting is working against her. I love that she isn’t smart enough to know that.

Can Baker turn on her at this point?

3/6/2025 I think it's DAY 25 now. Defense is trying to make Austin admit he wanted a plea deal and that he is lying by implicating Monica S. because it got him the deal he wanted.

'Monica Sementilli is accused of murdering her husband, Fabio Sementilli, because she allegedly wanted to continue her affair with a new man and collect a $1.6 million life insurance policy. Fabio Sementilli was found stabbed to death inside their Woodland Hills home back in January of 2017. Monica Sementilli and her lover, Robert Baker, were arrested six months after the crime. Monica Sementilli is charged with murder and conspiracy. Baker pleaded no contest to the charges against him and was sentenced to life in prison.'

Her fake expressions are so contrived and Oscar worthy.

Day 24

@cathyrusson

The judge in Monica Sementelli allowed a re..re…re…cross (I think it might have even been four times, lost count) . The only other time I can remember seeing that much was in the A$AP Rocky case. Maybe it’s an LA county thing? But I can’t recall seeing that anywhere else in the country.

I saw it ‘re re re’. What is that about? Defense has already been so repetitious.

They finished cross of Austin Baker and then a Geo location consultant was on the stand. His name was Sy Ray. He had some very good information. And then towards the very end they brought on Detective Corey Farell. Court is back in session today starting at 9 am California time.

Exactly, repetitious.

As you know, the state calls a witness, then the defense attorney has an opportunity to cross examine that same witness.
After that the state gets an opportunity to clear up any confusing testimony and ask questions same witness. Then typically, done with that witness, although a witness can be called back later if needed.

However, it sounds like the judge (I am not watching this trial) is allowing more than one cross examination. Which in my opinion is insane and would get confusing if I were a juror.

Hope that helps. ⚖️
