Here’s what the defense attorney just asked the estate representative on redirect -

“if the options had been exercised at the time that Fabio Sementilli was murdered by his wife you have the figure up there to what the options were worth, correct?”

Yikes!

(This is @ 3:20 pm on Law and Crime on YouTube, which I don’t know how to attach, so, imo. Maybe I didn’t hear correctly…but I think I did).

I keep wondering why Debra Obad (sp) has never been called as a witness .. her name has also came up over and over during this trial.

A long, brutal cross that is driving everybody up a wall, but making the point that Baker is lying for Monica. That's what needed to happen, and seems to be getting the point across to Jurors.

From what I understand, Bianchi, a former Prosecutor, says, "This is the character of what they brought there." Bianchi is saying that by the Defense bringing Baker to the trial, putting his low character and lying on display, they're proving this is what Monica was hanging around with, and "if you hang around dogs, you get fleas".
Or the defense could be hoping the jury could not possibly think she would pick this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, lowlife, degenerate loser over her husband; therefore, no way she’d plan Fabio’s murder.

I really don’t understand Monica’s attraction to Baker. He’s repulsive. I think she’s guilty as sin.

The family law expert was interesting. No bias at all. lol

His analogy of Monica being better off financially if there was a divorce is not true. The homicide rate would be lower if that were the case. It’s the top reason for why husbands kill their wives.

Was there a smoking gun from Baker? I didn’t see his testimony yet.
Plus, it takes patience. If you want your spouse gone from your life, you’d rather get $1.6 M now, than $2M over the next 20 years.

Maybe (hopefully) she'll be rebuttal.

Elsewhere on the net someone posted a ~5 minute video from a YT channel (I'd link it but I don't know if it's allowed here) with several clips of Austin talking to the blonde DA and a gentleman, either an interview where he confessed before the proffer or the proffer. The audio and video are very clear, I don't know why they didn't show that instead of just audio that was at times very challenging to hear.

On the Amazon purchase listing, 2 lines up from the GPS is a purchase for a motion activated portable hidden mini spy camera - why was he buying a mini spy camera? Was that and the GPS to keep tabs on Monica? I would presume if you're fooling around on your husband, you might not be a very faithful girlfriend either. Very curious.

Exactly and there was also testimony that she couldn't and wouldn't divorce him because her family wouldn't approve because they all loved Fabio.

Either to spy on Monica or maybe he used it somewhere at the Gym to spy on other women, he is such a creep I wouldn't put it past him. I still feel creeped out that she gave him the password to their home security system so he could log in and watch what was happening in her home at anytime.

IMO: He doesn’t love her, he was after her money. He prefers teenagers. I believe he groomed her after seeing the Porsche and maybe Fabio’s rings, etc. He is an opportunist and a disgusting person.

She fell for it and quickly so. I don’t think he would have stayed around if he got the money. His position now (his testimony) is that he loved her so much that he wanted her all to himself. He has to say that because it’s better than looking like he murdered for money.

He also wants to stay on her good side to be taken care of financially in prison. Not that she can do miracles but he can bargain with inmates for whatever they can do.

Yes! It loses its appeal when it’s not a lump sum. Especially when you want to take off with your boyfriend and toast to a grand slam.

IMO these are all the discrepancies I’ve found between Baker’s various stories:

- he didn’t know Viber was an encrypted app (they used it because it was “fun” but it became too “glitchy”); it was just a mere coincidence that both he and Monica deleted the app on the same day of Fabio’s murder

- they switched to WhatsApp because of the “glitches” but they’d used it a bunch before the murder (DA Silverman proved this was a lie by presenting the jury with evidence that they both downloaded WhatsApp and registered their accounts after the murder)

- his plan to murder Fabio started as an “abstract idea” during the middle of 2016 and he started discussing it with Austin in September or October; he didn’t get serious about the plan until December (Austin testified there were multiple three-way calls between Baker, Birdsong, and himself for the sole purpose of planning the murder, as early as the summer of 2016); previously, Baker said he began thinking about killing Fabio in January 2017 but later changed that to November 2016

- he claims Monica never confirmed she planned to live with Robert during her conversations with Sheila and Ricky in Las Vegas (Sheila testified that Monica agreed with the plan and said she was going to buy a house for Baker); in reference to statements he made on Facebook Messenger about planning to live with Monica within 3 months, he dismissed those as “hopes” and “bravado”

- he said Austin was just the lookout and didn’t stab Fabio (Austin testified he and Baker snuck up on Fabio and held him down while they stabbed him)

- he said he and Austin entered the home by going around the side of the backyard and using the sliding glass door (Austin testified they entered through the front door)

- he said he found the gold coins in an envelope on a patio table next to Fabio (Austin said the gold coins were in a safe that Monica had opened for him)

- he said he didn’t communicate with Monica for “weeks and weeks” after the murder and didn’t give her the burner phone at Fabio’s wake, yet Monica used the burner phone to communicate and send pictures to him while she was in Canada

- he said he never saw Monica have sex with other men (this was contradicted by sexually explicit photos/videos shown to the jury)

- he said he never discussed the case with Monica while he was in custody after their arrests (this is contradicted by the recording in the police car and the multiple recorded “hearovers” prior to pretrial hearings — the two discussed coming up with a story about the burner phones, their concern about the thousands of texts/calls prior to the murder being considered overt acts, and how they could explain his DNA at the murder scene)

IMO there is more than enough evidence to show that Monica was involved in the planning of this murder when you consider all of the above — not to mention the fact that she met up with Baker at Target minutes before the murder occurred, the false GPS narrative, the fact that she accessed the security system while she was supposedly shopping inside Target (and while Baker was killing Fabio), the open/unlocked safe, Baker’s prior knowledge about the location of the security footage, etc etc etc.

I could maybe accept one coincidence but no one could possibly believe the sheer number of coincidences required for Monica to be innocent here.

Thanks @cujenn81 for outlining the discrepancies between them. It all feels so disjointed to me.

Was anything said about the trial schedule next week?

Completely agree with you. It was also a bonus that she had teenage daughters and I'm sure he had his eye on them. He's a con man and at the moment she's a means to an end if he can get her off the charges for the financial benefits and maybe even get some conjugal visits.

I think I remember the judge saying he had to teach a class Monday - Thursday. I think they might only be in court on Friday next week.

Yes I heard him say they would be back on 1st of April.

Wow, I didn't know he'd been arrested. I thought it came up during trial that he hadn't been charged/arrested in connection with this. I must have misheard something.

MOO and thoughts here. The arrest article said the LA police had the arrest warrant to show the TX LE. His mug shot says he was apprehended because of an out of state murder charge and that he's a "FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE - OUT OF STATE". A lot goes on behind the scenes, so IMO, I don't think they just released him and he's off the hook now.

I get curious and start searching for info. Didn't he live in Las Vegas for awhile? Wasn't that where Baker said he & Austin went, and that Monica was there in town with Fabio. They went to AB's house. Can't get further into a convo here, but just want to say that LinkedIn "career" must be bs. Wonder if he'd have been offered a plea deal. I imagine if he had testified about Monica, it'd have really tipped the scales.

Madonna sure has a funny face. lol

Thank You both. No trial until Friday? Watching this trial has been such a chopped up event for me.
