Seems they want to know if you take away the motivation of the prosecution deal, what was he saying? A way to confirm his version. JMO.
Very good point! I guess that part of Mr. Levine's closing landed. Intriguing.

Just got back and appreciated everyone's updates and posts. No Verdict Yet. These Jurors have put so much into a nine-week trial, and they take their Civic duty seriously. I respect and thank them for that.

You have provided excellent information with graphics. I’m appreciative of your narration! The days got away from me.

The post (which I can’t find at the moment) about Bakers rotten teeth, my thoughts weren’t on looks/appearance but the bacteria factor. To me it speaks to poor hygiene.

When the state played the recording's for some reason I could hear it better than the earlier ones.

Thanks @Curious Me for the breakdown on this so called love story. We have had a somewhat small thread but we were on it!

Thank You @dotr. I really like Judge Coen's strong, clear voice and how he has control over his courtroom. Impressive. Not too many sour puss faces today from Monica. And now we wait.

March 18, 2024 (long article from last year). Those attorneys have been involved quite a while and know the case by heart. Not sure if there’s anything we don’t know but I didn’t find where it had been posted before. I may have missed it. Anyway It’s a good refresher while we wait.

Piqued my curiosity, and I'm terrible with acronyms. I always learn something new from cases on WS. I ran a search for OMM and it can also mean "On My Momma" as in ‘on my momma’s life’ and means that you want someone to believe your claim or the information you’re telling them. "R or D" is the couple's Ride or Die motto. They remind of immature teen lovers, but it's not cute to murder an innocent, trusting man. RIP Fabio Sementilli, may he get Justice.

From the article:

"including, "the phrases, 'OMM,' '9pm,' 'LOML,' and '100,'" according to a prosecution filing."

"Prosecutors allege these coded phrases establish the defendants' love and commitment not only to each other, but also the "conspiracy" and "secrecy pact" between them. "OMM," they allege, means "On My Mind," while they say "9pm" is a reference to a secretive plan to break jail rules and set timing for a phone call where a third party will connect the two to speak directly. The prosecutors contend "LOML" is an "acronym meaning 'Love of My Life' and '100' indicates their 100% commitment to one another."

Yes it does seem like the Jury are being through which is great. I remember watching the Michelle Troconis trial—it was kind of similar because there was a lot of circumstantial evidence in that one too. I'm pretty sure the jury took about 15 hours to decide over three days.

any updates? Court TV got me hooked on this trial and now they don't show anything about it.

Do you know if the jury started at 8:30am?? TIA! I like to keep the hours of deliberations in my notes is why I am asking! :)

They meant to start at 10 AM their time... The counter clock time seems to indicate that they indeed did start then.

1744322267738.webp No Verdict yet. I know there was talk of a Jury question from the video comments. Also when I turned on tv to Court TV, they mentioned a question, but then went right back to the Lori Daybell Arizona trial where she's her own defense.

Another thing I saw via the video comments is mention of Beth Silverman in connection to a Juan Catalan case. It had something to do with a 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' episode. Netflix's 'Long Shot' covers it. If you dig up articles, it's a very interesting read. Come to find out Juan Catalan said he was at a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game -- not a drive-by shooting -- at the time of the murder and there was footage to prove it. MOO, I think Silverman might've been wrong going after him.

Jury question to the judge: Please confirm if on page 51 of your sentencing order for Baker the special circumstances refers to lying in wait and financial gain.

  • #938
Question from the jury to the Judge. They asked if he could confirm if his sentencing order for Rob Baker in reference to special circumstances were for both special circumstances of financial gain & lying in wait.

Judge is answering Yes that it was in reference to both special circumstances. Judge heard objection from the defense but went forward with his original answer to the jury.

No worries. Thank you for including the judge's answer. I was listening to the defense's arguments about it and hadn't gotten to the end.
