Details of Disappearance​

Swanson was last seen at her home in the 25000 block of Silver Aspen Way in Valencia, California at 11:30 p.m. on December 15, 2022. She apparently walked out of the residence during the night, never returned and has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case, but she is considered to be at risk.

Skeletal Remains Found Near 5 Freeway Identified As Missing Valencia Woman

Johanna Swanson was last seen on Dec. 15, 2022, on the 25000 block of Silver Aspen Way in Valencia, according to a missing person bulletin released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department within days of her disappearance.

On Feb. 27, 2024, a California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) contracted employee discovered a human skull on the hillside next to the southbound 5 Freeway just south of Valencia Boulevard.

Swanson’s remains were found less than a half-mile away from her home.

As of Friday, a cause and manner of death are not available on the Los Angeles County Coroner’s website.
