This afternoon we heard from Cheryl Manzer (formerly Anderson) one of the last people to see #KristinSmart alive. She said Flores intercepted her, Smart, and another student on a walk home from the Crandall Way party.

As I said before. I always called Paul the “ silent and creepy type “. Now I see I’m not the only one who felt that way. There were so many warning signs with him. Also, now after reading the documents I realize he was way worse then we thought. A reporter who has been on the case for years told me it’s even worse then he thought.

Det. Clint Cole of the @SLOSheriff's Office (lead detective of the Kristin Smart case) took the stand today to talk about a booking photo, however, the prosecution has not yet admitted it to evidence. Court has adjourned for the day so I'm sure it'll pick up with him tomorrow AM.

Plead not guilty. No bond.
*Ruben Ricardo Flores (55 @ time of crime/80) arrested & charged (4/13/21) & arraigned (4/15/21) with accessory to murder after the fact. Plead not guilty. $250K bond. Bond was lower to $50K. Has posted bond (4/22/21), out of jail.

8/3/21 Tuesday, Day 2 of Preliminary hearing: Deputy District Attorney Chris Peuvrelle said at least two witnesses summoned for the hearing will not be taking the stand due to possible COVID-19 exposure & Paul's attorney Robert Sanger suggested the court look at possible changes in an effort to keep everyone safe. Judge Craig van Rooyen says the hearing will continue in person, but added that everyone in the courtroom will need to wear face coverings unless asking questions.
State witnesses: Steven Fleming, former dorm neighbor of Kristin's & had classes together, studied together & went to some of the same parties; (he is a veteran & retired Berkeley Police officer).
