CA CA - Lydia "Dia" Abrams, 65, Idyllwild, 6 Jun 2020 #2

Dia loved her children, any suggestion to the contrary is false.

Clem was a gentle, intelligent, caring man. Dia had everything she needed and more.

We don't know where KH stands in all of this? Speculating that he has acted the way he has because he feels/felt that he is/was next on a hit list? Please. It doesn't take much to see through his lies and how ridiculous that is.

These statements are completely inaccurate. I question the motives of the author.

Just to clarify, are you saying Clem didn't have any extra-marital affairs when married to Dia?

I cannot remember exactly where Dia's ranch is located, but FYI there is a wildfire in the vicinity. The Fairview Fire exploded to 500 acres in one hour on Monday Sept. 5 Labor Day on the east side of Hemet, CA and now is at least 4500 acres. New evacuation orders right now as the fire is moving east toward Mountain Center, Sage, Idyllwild. Best info is on Twitter #FairviewFire where MSM, CalFire, and residents are tracking.

CalFire and RivCoFire latest with evacuation expansion roads and map:

I hope Dia's precious animals survive and her beautiful property is spared.

Thanks for alerting us, @SandyQLS. I don't know the area at all, but the fire sure looks very close. The pictures are terrifying. Worried about all the residents in the area and all the animals.

It's pretty far from the fire. It is starting to head that direction, but the Cranston Fire burn scar should help stop the spread once it reaches it. They've evacuated everyone west of Thomas Mountain, which is west of where her property is. They've got VLAT support, they've brought out planes I've never seen here before. I live in the area. I know these mountains well. The area of Bautista Canyon they are in is very, very overgrown. I'm trying to stay as positive as I can. They've got firefighters stationed at every rural property protecting homes.

I'm just going to update in case anyone is wondering. It feels like they've lost control. It's a little over 2 miles from Highway 74. And the wind keeps blowing back this way (west).

Here is a viewpoint from my house a few miles west of the fire.

Thinking about you all day. You're all in my prayers. It's only 5% contained they say. Prayers needed that they get this monster fire under control.

@missmonica I am so sorry, your nerves must be exhausted. Thank you for clarifying where Dia's ranch is - I found the address on a document, "28893 Bonita Vista Road," hosted at an older CBS8 article. That is still a long way from this nasty fire.

A Pacific hurricane named Kay will skirt southern California in a very rare path Friday-Sunday bringing rain (Good!) and high winds (Bad!).

NOAA Hurricane Kay:

Predicted winds near Idyllwild 55mph - from National Weather Service NWS San Diego:

See Fire Symbols. Close enough to stay worried. Prayers these fires are brought under control and lives and homes are saved. Bless all the Fire Fighters.

I don't think any of these locations are close to the ranch, but I thought I'd post it. Evacuate please if it's needed.

Evacuations
The Riverside Fire Department along with CAL Fire have issued an evacuation order in these areas,

as of 6 a.m. Tuesday:
South of Stetson Road
North of Cactus Valley Road
West of Bautista Canyon Road
East of State Street

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday:
South of Cactus Valley Road
East of Sage Road
North of Red Mountain Road
West of Bautista Canyon in Sage

AND, as of 4 p.m. Wednesday:
North of Minto Way
West of U.S. Forest Service Boundary
Evacuation warnings have also been ordered for:
East Red Mountain Road
and the Cahuilla Mountain U.S. Forest Service Boundary
South of Minto Way
South of Red Mountain Road
West of Stanley Road
North of Stanley Road
East of Sage Road

Anyone in those areas must evacuate their homes. Fire officials said early Wednesday that they have gone to over 3,700 homes to ask people to leave the area. Some of those people are choosing to shelter in place, with "maybe a quarter of those people" leaving the area.

I am sorry I have missed this thread lately! Here's the latest news I could find about the Fairview fire:

>>>snip

HEMET, Calif. (CNS) -- Full containment of the deadly Fairview Fire southeast of Hemet could be achieved Monday thanks to moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Kay, authorities announced.

The fire was 45% contained Sunday morning after burning 28,307 acres, causing two deaths and destroying 17 structures...

(article continues)

My prayers to all involved with this terrible fire. I hope you are safe! Take good care.

^^^ Love this picture of Dia and her beloved ranch.
Harper, 72, remains “a person of interest in Dia’s disappearance,” according to a mediation brief filed in July by the missing woman’s children.
Lost track of what was going on in this case before the Fires. Thanks @coastal for the update, Thankful to hear the Fires are getting under control, and hope no one suffered any losses.

I think there were some questions asked to our Verified Insiders, and we were discussing the latest in the battle between KH and Dia's Children. Two years have gone by since Dia went missing. In five years they can declare someone dead in California law.

Here's KH Deposition transcript:

"The next hearing in the case is scheduled for September 19 in department PS3 of Palm Springs probate court."

Monday, September 19th:
*Probate Court Hearing (@ 8:45am PT in Palm Springs) - CA – Lydia “Dia” W. Kenshalo Abrams (65) (last seen @ 2:30pm June 6, 2020 from her 117-acre Bonita Vista Ranch, in a remote area east of Mountain Center, Idyllwild; vehicle, handbag, keys & cell phone still at home. Not found.
*Children of Abram’s request to remove Harper as trustee of ranch & other estate properties.

1/4/22 Update: It was Keith Harper who called police around 5pm on December 23 to report Newkirk had been killed on the ranch in a ATV rollover accident. He told sheriff investigators that Newkirk had been riding a quad on the property, during a rainstorm, because she wanted to cut down a live Christmas tree. Harper said he discovered the quad on top of the woman & performed CPR on her before authorities arrived & found Newkirk deceased. Riverside Sheriff announced in an online news release that the incident was a “suspicious death” and that Newkirk had “unexplained injuries,” which were not consistent with an ATV rollover accident. Homicide detectives are investigating, according to the news release. “This was not an accident. But as far as the investigation, we know nothing and we're just hoping that answers come from the toxicology,” said Berkowitz. In a series of text messages with News 8, Harper indicated he received information that one of Abrams’ workers “escorted her off the ranch into the hands of those who execute[d] her” & “they then waited [sic] her down & put her in the bottom of Lake Hemet.” Via text message, Harper claimed a Riverside Sheriff dive team recently attempted to locate Abrams’ remains in Lake Hemet but failed. In response to CBS 8 inquiries, a Riverside Sheriff’s spokesperson emailed, “Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any additional information on this open & active investigation.”
5/9/22 Update: Motion by the Abrams to continue trial-granted. Upcoming hearing on subsequent Petition for Orders concerning power of attorney filed by Crisara & Clinton Abrams & Petition for Trusted filed by Keith Harper (re: confirmation of successor trustee) & on subsequent miscellaneous Petition filed by Crisara Abrams & on 1st amended Petition for Conveyance or Transfer of Property claimed to belong to decedent or other person filed by Cisara & Clinton Abrams. Hearing on 9/19/22.
5/18/22: A judge ruled Keith Harper must register as a sex offender until at least 2025. 6/6/22 Update: Riverside Sheriff Office emailed CBS8 the following statement on the evening of June 6: We have spoken with the lead investigator of the case & he said our department continues to investigate the disappearance of Dia Abrams. Unfortunately, we have no new information to report to the public. We are working diligently on any & all leads in this case and send our continued prayers to the family & friends of Ms. Abrams.
7/2/22 Update: The attorneys hired by Clinton & Crisara Abrams spent 6 hours going through events with Keith Harper.

I was searching for updates on Dia when I came across this article from March. I find the family dynamics interesting.
MARCH 18, 2022 1:22 PM PT

Every bit of details, facts, and dynamics really do make a difference in how we see this case. Clem sounds like a hard working man and very loyal to his La Jolla. Oh, Thank You @jash for this eye opening news article that defines the family dynamics and actually who is the Trustee of Clem's estate.

 Clinton Abrams, who lives in La Jolla and works as a developer, told the La Jolla Light that Crisara Abrams is making decisions regarding the property and that “my sister and I are currently not in direct communication. We haven’t spoken directly in many months.”

 Updates
3:40 p.m. May 27, 2022: A representative of the Clem Abrams Trust issued a statement saying that “Crisara Abrams is the sole trustee of the Clem Abrams Trust. ... Previously it was reported incorrectly that the Clem Abrams Trust is administered by Clem Abrams’ children, Clinton and Crisara Abrams.” This article has been updated to reflect that.
