Bumping for Maya.

Interesting. So many pages of declaration for someone who is so private he would rather not talk about or help look for his wife.

If safety is that big of an issue then keeping the kids in that house is obviously not smart. <modsnip>

Edit- if safety is an issue, why does he need ALL the guns? Why not ask for a few of them returned with ammo? He’s not John Wick.

His diatribe seems to be a feeble attempt to justify his actions, and court the sympathy and support of legitimate and law abiding gun owners. Won't work.

Why are the children staying at the home if their father feels like he can't protect them without guns? Why isn't their father asking for LE's help since he's not getting his guns back? It doesn't make any sense.

bingo. Not much of what he says makes sense to the majority of the population though. IMO.

I'll shorten this up a bit after posting...

Tuesday, June 22nd”
*Gun Hearing (@ am PT) - CA - *Maya Millete (39) (last seen @ home on Jan. 7, 2021, near San Miguel Ranch area, Chula Vista & reported missing Jan. 9, 2021 by her sister). *Larry Millete (39) regarding restraining order on possession of guns. LE says couple had marital problems. Had argument that day, 1/7/21. The husband said that Maya would leave for the night after they've had an argument but this is different because she missed their daughter's birthday (1/10/21) and it's been 5 days already. Maya also did not show up for work on Monday (1/11/21). Chula Vista police said they have no evidence of a crime & the husband is fully cooperating. Investigators currently are treating the woman’s disappearance as a missing persons case. Family confirms Millete had set up an app0intment with a divorce lawyer for the Tuesday (1/12/21) on the same day she went missing. Larry Millete, husband. Maya was reported missing on 1/10/21 & CVP Dept. served a search warrant at the Millete home on 1/23/21 (12 search warrants executed). "If anything happened to me, it would be Larry.' That's the chilling warning Maya allegedly told her family just days before she disappeared in January (camping trip over 1/1/21 weekend). Larry has declined to speak to the media & reportedly stopped cooperating with police in the investigation after retaining his own lawyer on 2/3/21. A witness who heard the conversations firsthand told Fox News exclusively that Larry Millete frequently discussed paying someone $20,000 to kill his missing wife's alleged boyfriend. Larry Millete "seemed pretty serious," the witness said, about the alleged murder-for-hire plot; was mentioned again on 1/4/21 per witness. (news on 4/5/21). 4/9/21: News 8 obtained an audio recording of the gunshots (total of 6), which already has been turned over to Chula Vista Police. The neighbor who provided News 8 the recording wanted to remain anonymous & did not want the video portion aired on TV because it identifies their house. It was recorded around 10pm on Thursday, January 7, the same night Maya went missing & the same night her husband, Larry Millete, reportedly had an argument with his wife. Another search warrant executed on 4/11/21 on LM’s uncle house, the person who moved the freezer on 1/7/21. Also, video surveillance of the Uncle & Aunt’s car at LM & MM house at 2:30 am the night Maya went missing. Also revealed by the family tonight, LM was tracking her for a year & 1/2. Tracker on her phone, car & cc purchases. On January 23rd, Chula Vista Police executed a search warrant at the Millette home using police dogs & forensic lights for nearly seven hours. Officers searched the home, garage & yard for clues but will not comment on their investigation. Her husband continues to cooperate with police.
4/12/21: From Dr. Phil first confirms no neighbor surveillance shows MM leaving the residence. BIlly Lttle (BL) states that Larry Millette (LM) is also not seen on surveillance. He says that LM is not seen getting in or out of Maya Millete's SUV yet infers that he (LM) backs the SUV in the garage & he (LM) pulls it forward. BL states there are video clips of LM driving at odd hours during the night but he's not seen the videos to verify. BL opines the tracking device in the Lexus was either disabled or didn't work. BL believes the vehicle is in police custody.
4/21/21 Press Conference: 16 search warrants executed including MM residence, vehicles, cellular & electronic devices, call detail records, financial records, social media & cloud data; and a search warrant for the residence of a Millete family member (Uncle) on 4/1/21. Officers seized the family's black, Lexus SUV with a personalized license plate, that reads "MAYLANI." Larry Millete told family members he was driving the Lexus all day on Friday, January 8, 2021.
5/5/21: San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. served Larry Millete a temporary gun violence restraining order, 2 days before police served a search warrant at his Chula Vista home. According to the Sheriff's Dept. website, this type of restraining order is served in writing & signed off by the Court. It prohibits the person from owning, purchasing, receiving, or having custody of any firearm, ammunition, or magazine. The documents show Larry Millete owns 22 firearms, including 7 AR-15s, three shotguns & five handguns. Eight of the firearms are legally registered to him, but the 14 others were not. The reason for the restraining order, according to the documents is a "significant danger'" of MIllete having access to the firearms. The “unregistered assault weapons” found at the uncle’s house were described as an “Aero Precision, Model: SPR-2, 7.62 Caliber” & a “Hi-Point Firearms, Model 4595, 45 Caliber.” Judge Katherine A Bacal signed the temporary gun violence restraining order the same day, May 5, ordering Larry Millete to surrender his weapons within 48 hours.
5/7/21: Chula Vista police on Friday afternoon served another search warrant at the home. Police arrived at the Millete home @ about 4:30pm. A U.S. Customs & Border Protection K9 officer is being used in the search & that officers planned to be at the home for several hours to search the entire property per Chula Vista Police Lt. Frank Giaime. Wrapped up search about 11pm. In a recent update, police said they’ve written 23 total warrants & conducted nearly 60 interviews in the search for Millete.
5/10/21 Update: Judge Bacal ordered Larry Millete’s name & address redacted from the court records until a hearing is held on June 22. However, Millete's name is associated with the restraining order case number, when searched through the San Diego County Sheriff's Department website. During the June hearing, the judge will decide whether to make the gun violence restraining order permanent for at least 12 months.
6/14/21 Update: Chula Vista police have written 11 more search warrants over the last two weeks in the search for Maya. That makes 42 search warrants that authorities have written for "residences, vehicles, cellular & electronic devices, call detail records, financial records, social media & cloud data."

I'm not sure what to think of this. This is a good thing, right? If the court would have voted in Larry's favor, then he would be allowed access to his guns immediately, correct? Please enlighten me

The initial GVRO was for 30 days, then the hearing was scheduled to rule on either ending it or extending it. If it had been ended by the judge, he would have gotten his guns back within 48 hours or so, as it was originally scheduled to end I believe 6/25. So this is definitely a good thing, and maybe a telling thing I think, that are not willing to return them yet (ie: the threat still exists), or maybe are aware that very soon they will not have to return them at all (arrest being made? God I hope so!).

That's exactly what I was thinking but the legal stuff is too complicated for my tiny brain. Maybe they just need a bit more time to dot those i's!

LM didn't get his guns back. Heard it on News8 today.
There was a group protesting because they didn't want LM to get his guns back. Many people are seriously worried about the children.

Hearing delayed on gun violence restraining order surrounding husband of missing Chula Vista mother Maya Millete | cbs8.com
Updated: 11:26 AM PDT June 22, 2021
My amateur interpretation is that this is a very good sign. I speculate they expect him to be in the slammer before this case would be heard, thus dismissing the need to hear it. Smart move on the part of the judge. Go ahead and stomp your feet, rant and rave, or hold your breath until you turn blue LM.
Game over.

I listened to Chris's episode on the way home from work today. LM is a piece of work, the wah-wah/poor me is just too much. I hope the hearing was delayed because they plan to arrest him for murder shortly. Gun issue solved!!!

His plan of having a sense of normalcy for the kids just went out the window. Now LM's parents are taking care of the kids according to Maricris, and LM is nowhere to be found at times when they were trying to serve him his papers. Is anybody even living at their home anymore? Those poor kids. Missing mom, guns, none of their larger family to protect and comfort them.

IMHO, and I hope not, but this will screw them up mentally as they get older Its tough enough not having their mom, but they need all that extra loving support from all members of their family.

I expect a big development is over the horizon.
