A court has declared Richardson dead, although no body has been found.

Last month, Sutton sued the county of Los Angeles and several sheriff's officials for wrongful death and negligence in her daughter's disappearance, according to court documents.

I didn't know that you could have someone declared dead in just a years time.

The family having her "declared dead" is just sort of shocking to me and then to sue for "wrongful death and negligence"...

I hope she has been in Las Vegas and is okay. However she may not want to call the family after being "declared dead".

I know I would not want to call mine...
 
Wow if this is her!!! If it is, I am very interested in finding out what happened. I feel bad for her family.
 
Okay - something is wrong here. Per cnn:

Ronda Hampton, a close friend of Richardson's family, said an acquaintance of Richardson's told police he saw her at a casino last month. Hampton said that after observing her for about three hours, the acquaintance approached the woman who appeared to be Richardson and asked, "Where have you been?"

"The woman turned around and looked as if she didn't know him (the acquaintance) and then looked at him again, then she ran off with some woman," Hampton told CNN.

Now we ALL know there are surveillance tapes in all vegas casinos. It's been a month since the friends supposedly watched her 3 hours. Where is this tape? Has it been seen by the family? I know they don't allow you to take pics inside a casino (gaming area)), so maybe that's why he didn't take a picture. But this statement kinda floors me.

3 hours worth of video and no substantiated ID?

E-HOW -- missing person declared deceased

this says that the National standard is 7 years, however after 9/11 some states changed legislation, and can be expedited if the person is shown to have disappeared after being exposed to some kind of danger. This article also says that you have to run an ad in the paper notifying the person that you are declaring them deceased, I don't know if that's what needs to be done in CA and if you have to run it a certain way...

I wouldn't be coming home if my parents declared me deceased either, and especially after I saw how they were fighting and being childish and petty... The ONLY thing I would do is notify the police and let them know that I don't want to be bothered and not to tell my parents where I was. And that they should get any lawsuits filed on my behalf dropped.

But as always... that's just me, and if Mitrice is alive and well in Vegas, good for her. I hope she's having the time of her life and has put her troubles behind her.


ETA: Can they even sue for wrongful death? There really is no proof that Mitrice is deceased. Having someone declared deceased is just sort of a formality isn't it? Does it really even prove anything?? (I thought it was just a way to move on with estates and whatnot...)
 
A friend of the family "saw her" at a casino in Vegas. Approached her..."Mitrice where have you been?" she looked at him odd and left. Surveillance video wasn't good enough quality to make a definitive ID.

Currently following credible leads that makes them believe she is in Las Vegas.


Looking for a needle in haystack. Asking for the public's help.
 
Any word on this? LE was going to hold a press conference right? Anyone know when?
 
Its great jvm continues to cover this case, but maybe someone should tell the family they need to change their attitude a bit if they want this to continue. Just like their preacher who says things like this wouldn't happen if her last name was "spears or lohan", that makes no sense. Lets find mitrice and preach a little less. Im sorry if this post is offensive, just have thought this from the start and im watching jvm right now.
 
When you read the articles and her Dad is speaking. He says he thought he saw her in January and almost got hit by a car trying to get to her, and he believes very much that she is alive. So now then "why in the HE!! would you file a wrongful death suit against the Sheriffs if there is no body and you believe she's alive? It's always about the money with him and it has been since the beginning. That's all he talks about. Don't get me wrong I know he loves his Daughter and this is tragic, but he does have an attitude and always talks about money. Sorry! I mean it hasn't even been a year and their writing her off as dead.
 
In order for her family to file the wrongful death lawsuits, they had to have her legally declared deceased. The timing of these sightings here in Vegas is quite interesting to me.

The great thing about Las Vegas is that we have surveillance cameras EVERYWHERE. If she's here and hanging in the casinos, she will be found.

Matrice is getting a lot of press here tonight!
 
That's great Fairy if they are doing press conferences. I can't hear anything on the one press conference. Can you tell me what they are saying. If you don't mind.
 
Why do you think they are quite interesting? Just to get your input.

I don't know - I couldn't hear it either! I've read about the father's possible sighting and it seems it was quite some time ago. The Rio sighting was about a month ago. I saw something about "numerous" sightings in Las Vegas. I was hoping to hear more. Like, where? It would help me in looking for her in my travels.

I'll see if I can find a better video of the PC.

I just e-mailed them and asked them if they could fix it. I can't find the PC anywhere else!
 
Sorry for all the back-to-back posts. I meant to mention, I believe they are now offering a $25,000 reward.

Also, it seems the fact that Mitrice is bi-polar is just now coming out. Did we know that? For sure? I don't recall. I'm wondering if she has ever actually been diagnosed as bi-polar.
