Corona man accused of killing 8-year-old son getting new attorney – Press Enterprise

Dec. 4, 2020

The murder case against Bryce Daniel McIntosh of Corona – accused of torturing and killing his 8-year-old son, Noah – will be delayed while he gets a new attorney.

Deputy Public Defender Brian Cosgrove on Friday, Dec. 4, declared a conflict of interest for his office in representing McIntosh. Cosgrove did not elaborate to Superior Court Judge O.G. Magno.

The Public Defender’s Office, which functions as a law firm, can declare a conflict for any number of reasons. The typical solution is to appoint a lawyer at a private firm that has a contract with the county.
[.....]
A hearing to appoint a new attorney for McIntosh, 34, was scheduled for Monday [12/7/20].
[.....]
The torture allegation makes McIntosh eligible for the death penalty. The District Attorney’s Office has not said whether it intends to seek that punishment.

Noah McIntosh update: Father indicted on murder charges; evidence found (desertsun.com)
An indictment unsealed Friday charges the father of missing 8-year-old Noah McIntosh of Corona with murder.

Bryce McIntosh, 33, is charged with one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation of torture, and one count of willful child cruelty. The special circumstance allegation makes the elder McIntosh eligible for the death penalty, but the district attorney has not yet said if the prosecution will seek the death penalty.

[...]

Noah McIntosh's mother, Jillian Godfrey, 37, pleaded guilty last year and is scheduled to be sentenced in 2021.

Detectives believe Bryce McIntosh purchased long-cuffed gloves, bolt cutters, four gallons of muriatic acid, a 32-gallon trash can and several bottles of drain opener days after the boy was last seen alive in March 2019. Noah McIntosh's body has yet to be found.

[...]

A search of the area revealed a paper with the words “Noah M” written on it, a trash can, latex gloves, empty bottles of drain cleaner, and a plastic trash bag with residue inside consistent with blood, Hall said.

Another search was conducted in the Temescal Canyon area of Riverside County where other evidence was located, which Hall declined to describe.

[...]

McIntosh is scheduled to appear again in court in February 2021

(Geez Oh Pete, glad I didn't follow this one!)

Oh if there was ever a prime candidate for the Death Penalty it would be this cruel and psychotic monster of a sperm donor.

I don't cut the so called 'mother' any slack either, when she walked out of that apartment with him beaten and crying for help.

I had no idea JG had been released on OR 10-15-20.
I hope she isn't allowed anywhere near her daughter.

@Mica - any word on what is happening with Godfrey's case? Maybe another hearing date?

TIA! :)

The Riverside Court Portal requires a login and there are fees to do a search. I don’t have an account.

Well shizzle... thanks anyway!
hmm... now I'm wondering "who" helped me last time - guess I'll have to go back & look! :)

Okay... @Jim_M - hope you are around? Can you see what is going on with Godfrey's case in the court site?

TIA!
