Adult Caucasian male found deceased in motel room by fellow carnival co-workers the morning after he was last known alive. No identification on body, note found in pocket with the name Brad Lee Bodie (exluded as identity of the decedent). Was arrested by LASO on 3/25/1974, with no identification, and fingerprinted (see booking photo). Gave name as James Allen Chastain to his employer, was also known as Leroy.

Any word on COD? I'm guessing it was non-homicicide. Drug OD or suicide possibly.

On some websites, including namus his alias is mentioned to be Leroy. Some other links, including below, stating Larry.

Found the following obit that mentions this woman was predeceased by her son James A Chastain Jr. Do we know if this might the same James A chastain? Do we know if he has been accounted for or assumed deceased.

He was arrested on March 25 and found on April 5, so it's unlikely he had served any time yet. Probably hadn't even had time to make a court appearance--most likely was booked and posted bail, given the time frame.

Yea it looks like a pretty good possibility except that he would have had to gain weight real quickly tho. Mitch's lips look a lot fuller than 'Brad's' tho.

Though the picture of Brad is kind of overexposed, it could have hidden some stuff?

9 months I don't think is that quick.. especially.. IF he got depressed and all he did was eat junk food and drink beer... Just my thoughts.

I converted the color photos to b/w and tried to work the photo of the UID a bit more.. Just thought I would add..

Mitch and the UID's glasses seem similar and both wear them low on the nose. Also his hair has the same part and wavy in the front.. the UID seems to have it messier and wavier but you can see in one of the photos the pony tail Mitch has on looks like the same type of waves the UID had..and the top of his right ear seems the same along with his eyebrows.. anyway.. just my thoughts again...
