It’s Cameron, Lauren‘s & Lil‘ Wayne‘s son. Sweet kid!
Thank you for the updates. As unlikely as it seems, this middle aged, midwestern, housewife from suburbia has a connection.
The situation saddens me.
L.A. City Council to name South L.A. intersection ‘Nipsey Hussle Square’ – Daily News
The Los Angeles City Council adjourned its regular meeting Friday in memory of Nipsey Hussle after approving a motion to rename the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard in the slain rapper’s honor.
The 33-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper — whose real name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom — was fatally shot March 31 in front of The Marathon Clothing store he owned at Slauson and Crenshaw.
Former rap producer Suge Knight says Nipsey Hussle’s loyalty to his neighborhood could have contributed to his shooting death, the incarcerated felon said in a recent interview.
“A lot of artists like Nipsey have the same problem that I had. We are too loyal to our neighborhood,” Knight told TMZ.
He said rappers are often hesitant to move from their hometowns, because “when you go around Hollywood it’s all watered down.”
One of the victims who survived the Nipsey Hussleshooting has been arrested for violating his parole — which prohibited him from hanging out with the slain rapper and other known gang members.
Kerry Lathan, 56, was taken into custody Friday by authorities just days after being treated and released from the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
An LAPD spokesman told The Post that Lathan had been out on parole after serving a 20-year sentence for murder.
He was reportedly picked up at his halfway house.
According to TMZ, Hussle — an admitted member of the Rollin 60’s Crips — was helping Lathan get some new clothes on the day he was killed following the ex-con’s release from prison.
ETA: Reportedly, Nipsey was doing a good deed clothing Latham after 20 years in prison. I'm curious how Marathon was able to employ felons and/or ex-convicts under these circumstances...
Man Who Was Shot In Nipsey Hussle Killing Speaks Out In Interview From Jail
Latham interview reveals Nispey helped him with clothes 7 months earlier -- and not on Sunday as reported in media.
Latham reports he was with his nephew (also shot) who suggested he buy a new shirt as they were walking past the Marathon store enroute to pay condolences to family who recently lost a loved one.
Nipsey Hussle's Family Rejects Crowdfunding, His Kids Are Set for Life
As we reported ..[Reggie] Bush set up a ******** in hopes of raising $100,000 for Nipsey's kids, personally chipping in $10k to get things started. But, that fundraiser has already been scrubbed from the internet.
We're told the family is grateful for the outpouring of support, but as one source put it -- Nip just wouldn't want it that way, and since he left his family financially secure ... it's just not necessary.
I wasn't aware that friend "Fatts" was actually working as security guard when he was killed in driveby. Both NH and Fatts killed on their own non violent setting, and before their time....

Man who shot and killed famous rapper Nipsey Hussle will remain in solitary confinement (full story)
Eric Holder, the suspect arrested by Los Angeles Police Tuesday in the homicide of rapper Nipsey Hussle is being held in solitary confinement on over $7 million bond, the Los Angeles Police Department says.

Police told the Associated Press that a citizen's tip led to his arrest by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in Bellflower, California, located near Long Beach and about 20 miles south of the spot where Hussle was slain.
After detectives from the LAPD's South Bureau Homicide unit verified that he was the same man they were searching for, Holder was transferred to their custody. He is currently housed in the LAPD's 77th Street jail, according to booking records.
I had never heard of this rapper prior to his death, and then all I could think about was the late great comedian Nipsey Russell.
Attorney for the man accused of killing Nipsey Hussle withdraws after threats to his children | Daily Mail Online
The lawyer who had been representing the man accused of murdering community activist Nipsey Hussle has withdrawn from the case citing threats made against his children.
Chris Darden was set to make his final appearance in the case on Friday after filing a motion to withdraw from representing Eric Holder, 29, the man accused of fatally shooting Hussle, 33, on March 31 in Los Angeles.
Darden didn't specifically say why he was leaving Holder's defense team, though he did note that his children had received threats over his choice to uphold the constitution and provide Holder with 'counsel of his choice.'
ETA: I thought this was also career suicide from day one..
Former O.J. Simpson prosecutor leaves Nipsey Hussle case after threats
The issue of race has followed Chris Darden through two of the most high-profile cases of his career.
In 1995, some called the black lawyer a traitor for prosecuting the murder case against O.J. Simpson. Now, he said, his brief stint defending a black man accused of gunning down the beloved rapper and community activist Nipsey Hussle has brought threats to him and his family.
He cited those threats Friday when he announced his decision to step down from the case.
“After centuries of a history of black men hung from trees without trial, or after the thousands of cases of black men tried, convicted and executed without counsel ... I cannot understand why in 2019 some people would deny a black man his 6th Amendment right to counsel of his choice,” Darden wrote in a Facebook post. “Or why defending such a man should invite threats not only against me but against my children too.”

Eric Holder, 29, was indicted on one count of murder, two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said.
