I have the new book, I'm gonna crack it open on kindle shortly. I would never want to disparage Anne Rule in anyway..I had a little communication with her and she was terrific... But, I couldn't help but feel she was just a touch swayed over to the Shaknai side, I felt like it was hard to see clearly why she favored them in her book..I'm really hoping for upcoming developments. mOO

Not disparaging of AR at all but IMO, a worthy assessment of limited research by the author that was published only a year after Rebecca's July 2011 death.

It really wasn't 'a book' as we came to rely on AR. Instead, RZ was just one of seven crime stories published in the compilation titled "Fatal Friends, Deadly Neighbors...and other True Crime Cases."

I don't think it unfair to state that everybody was still too afraid to talk about this case when AR was putting RZ's chapters together so soon after her death. JMO

I wouldn't even call what the police did an 'investigation"- because they really didn't do anything that approximates a thorough investigation. There is no doubt in my mind that the Shaknai family influenced this so-called investigation and we see the result. This case is a travesty of justice.

Episode Seven (Operation Dragonfly/The Review) has now been released. It is worth a listen.

• Ginger briefly talks about the new witness that came forward last summer.
• There’s the recap about the neighbor’s recollection of what she heard that night. She could hear hollering and screaming. Heard a bunch of (4) kids about 11:15 that night bouncing a basketball. The neighbor recounts hearing a woman scream real loud... "help me, help me!"
• After not hearing anything else, the neighbor closed up the house and went to bed. The screams she heard were so unsettling that she couldn’t quite go to sleep for a couple of hours.
  
• However, the neighbor's story got changed as to who was screaming-- from a woman screaming to a teenager screaming.

"Hold her still" --- I have followed this case from day one -- who else would have been at the mansion with AS helping him with the demise of RZ? Every part of this case is disturbing ... such a strange 911 call.

There has never been any mention of anyone else being on the grounds that morning besides Adam Shacknai and Zahau, but a new look into Adam Shacknai’s 911 call may add interesting wrinkles to his story. Brad Murphree, a forensic audio engineer featured in Oxygen’s “Death at the Mansion: Rebecca Zahau,” examined the frantic call and uncovered that there may be more secrets lurking in the audio file than most listeners would notice at first, and the implications appear to contradict Adam Shacknai’s version of events.

Thanks to the science of “voice fingerprinting” — or the idea that everyone has a voice as unique as their physical fingerprint — Murphree was able to detect what appears to be the sound of a second person present during Shacknai’s 911 call.

In a portion of the audio that previously seemed too garbled to make out, Murphree claims that Adam Shacknai can be heard saying, “Hold her still.” Such a statement suggests that Shacknai may have been speaking to someone else in the room — and after Shacknai allegedly delivers the command, Murphree explained, the audio reveals that there was someone else there “having the communication back to him.”

The report says they also heard Adam rummaging around in what sounded like a kitchen, getting a knife to cut RZ down. Perhaps he was telling the person to hold her body still so he could cut the rope he had used to hang her.

I think Adam's murder and attempt at cleaning up were somewhat haphazard. JMO, he was getting advice or assistance from someone on how to stage the scene to make it look like suicide, instead of murder.

We're fairly sure that Jonah was on security video at the hospital that night. Adam probably didn't know many people in Coronado, since he lived in TN. Obviously, no one that Rebecca knew would have assisted in her death. JMO, that leaves the possibility that whomever was helping out was someone known to the Shacknai family. JMO

Could it have been the same person who showed up at the crime scene later that morning and was spotted lifting the yellow tape and walking around the scenes before Coronado PD escorted him out?

It's hard to interpret it any other way, no?

The problem is that SDSO refuses to reopen the investigation. They're still on record with their original flawed analysis and missing evidence.

It is so frustrating for us here at WS- imagine how frustrating it is for her family that SDSO will not re-open the investigation. It is absolutely awful.

Thats why we keep going round and round with the details. I definitely think that a situation ensued between them, there is a thinly veiled anger as he says he was "dispatched" to the guesthouse. Sometimes I think it started as a sex assault other times I think a fight happened and he hit her and strangled her..either way I have always thought he chased her around the house and yard at one point and maybe the angry fight turned into a grim sexual assault.

Jonah himself said there could have been someone out there who did all this to harm his family in some retribution scenario tied to his business dealings..( the deaths of Max and RZ)

also, Jonah admitted to police that Dina was capable of doing this. I think they 100 percent need to go back to the drawing board.

Personally, I would not believe anything JS says. I too believe it started with AS making sexual advances which led to violence after the rejection.

His statement about "dispatched to the guesthouse" is an interesting quote. Did he take offense to being put out there rather than allowed to stay in the main house? idk - he's different, imo.

Additionally, SD, wants to change the narrative so that doesn't help the case. Unbelievable - there's been no justice for Rebecca Zahu.

According to the information at the link above, Oxygen had an expert analyze the audio of the 911 call. He identifies voices by digital development of a voice "fingerprint" - IOW a digital signature from the audio of the voice that is unique to each person. According to him, the voice fingerprint of the person who said "hold her still" was different from Adam.

I recall, back in the days after RZ's death, other WS members also thought there was a second voice in the background of the 911 tape. It was a common belief among members here there was someone else at the crime scene.

Then there was the situation where analysis of RZ's death photos revealed that it wasn't necessary for Adam to stand on a table to cut her down. I also recall missing minutes from the 911 recording.
