Found Safe CA - Rich Tyrrell, 47, Temecula, 8 July 2019

I don't think there were any media sensationalized headlines...I live in this area and the only reason I heard about this was on a local fb community group. I never saw anything on the news. What actually surprised me was how little coverage the story was getting in the local area.

Considering how many websleuths cases end in self harm, I hope we can be supportive and refrain from snarky comments about someone who was clearly under enormous stress. His brother was dying and he lost his other brother and both parents to cancer.

JMO.

I'm also local and my husband doesn't even follow cases and texted me this one Wednesday am. Was reported all over the news locally.

The media chose to throw the businesses name in there even though it was established early that he was dropped off near/in Compton. Not fair IMHO.

I was the first and pretty much only person who suggested that Mr. Tyrrell was missing voluntary. It screamed that in every possible way to me. Sometimes the most unpopular reason is in fact the right reason. I guess I knew because I've known a few too many gamblers in my life.

Hope he apologizes to the Pechanga for the business they have lost due to the media sensationalized headlines. Hopefully he and his gf can work it out and hopefully he'll get whatever help he needs. He seems like a great guy and I'm sure he'll be able to make a comeback from this.

Well it did not sound voluntary to me given the information that was available. Seemed nefarious. In retrospect I still do not think the odds were on him just randomly popping back up with what we knew. But hey...I got to give it to you and i'm glad you were right. So often it does not turn out this way.

I for one did not expect this guy to be alive. Great news.
Sounds like he pulled a "Ferris Bueller's night off" and has some splain'n to do.
Seriously though, sounds like he needs some counseling since he has been going through some rough times. He's a lucky man if his gal of nine years stays by his side. She seemed really genuine and lovely.

Good luck to them both.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Well said, @rosesfromangels! I'm glad he was found, and I hope he gets some help to move past this incident, and heal from the recent deaths in his family.
