"A Peel Regional Police officer and a civilian are in hospital Saturday after both were shot in Brampton overnight.

Investigators were still searching early Saturday morning for the gunman.

Police spokesman Const. Thomas Ruttan said the officer was shot around 10:20 p.m. after he was called to check out a building on Stokes Road. The call did not come in to police as a shooting"

Wait.... I thought Canada has very strict gun laws.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I read here on this site somewhere no guns allowed.
