''Dale Nancy Wyman was last seen in Ottawa in July 1980. On Thursday, Wyman's birthday, police issued "age progressed sketches" prepared by the Ontario Provincial Police of the now 63-year-old.

Police say her family never stopped searching for Wyman, and it's been 40 years since she spoke to any of her siblings.

"Dale is deeply missed by her brother and two sisters. Our hearts hold an empty space for her and we pray and hope that someone may remember her in any way," said Wyman's sister Brenda Larche.

In 1980, Wyman was 22 and living with her family on Washington Avenue in what was then the city of Vanier. Police say Wyman told some family members she was thinking of leaving home.

On July 16, 1980, Wyman left the family home with her suitcase at 11:45 a.m., hailed a taxi and proceeded to the Voyageur bus station on Catherine Street. Wyman did not tell family members where she was going.

Police say investigators spoke to the only witness at the time, the taxi driver that drove Wyman to the bus station. Police say he advised that Wyman mentioned to him that she was not sure where she was going, perhaps Toronto or Montreal.

The taxi driver observed Wyman speaking to two other young adults inside the bus terminal.

"This is the last time anyone in Ottawa saw or heard from Dale," said police in a statement.

Police say they have received tips over the years that Wyman may have been in Alberta in 1991 and in the Toronto area in 1992. Her family believes that she may have been in Saskatchewan or Alberta at some times.''

''At the time of her disappearance, Wyman was described as a white female, 5'5", 150 lbs, with long brown hair and blue eyes. Wyman sometimes went by the first name of Nancy or Gail.''

Dale Wyman - Please Bring Me Home

Dale Wyman hasn't been seen or heard from since she boarded a Greyhound traveling from Ottawa to Thunder Bay in the summer of July 1980. Dale had a boyfriend at the time of her disappearance but his identity is unknown. There is no reason to believe that foul play is involved.
Dale may have spent some time in an Edmonton hospital shortly after she left on the bus to Thunder Bay, but it has not been confirmed that it was indeed Dale.
Dale’s family have posted flyers from Thunder Bay to Ottawa but so far they have been unable to locate her.

''(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Missing Persons Unit is seeking public tips to locate Dale Nancy Wyman, who has been missing for over 40 years, and sharing age-progressed sketches prepared by the Ontario Provincial Police.

Her family never stopped searching for her and it has now been 40 years since Dale spoke to any of her siblings. Dale is now 63 years old and her sister Brenda Larche has this message and a video:

“Dale is deeply missed by her brother and two sisters. Our hearts hold an empty space for her and we pray and hope that someone may remember her in any way. Please help us to resolve this and find some peace and closure. Thank you. And God Bless for any tips brought forward.”

In 1980, Dale was 22 years old and living with her family on Washington Avenue in what was then the City of Vanier and told some family members that she was thinking of leaving home.

On July 16th of that year, Dale left the family residence with her suitcase at 11:45 in the morning, hailed a taxi and proceeded to the Voyageur bus station on Catherine Street. Dale did not disclose to any of her family members where she was heading.

Police investigators spoke to the only witness at the time, the taxi driver. He advised that Dale mentioned to him that she was not sure where she was going, perhaps Toronto or Montreal.

After dropping off Dale, the taxi driver entered the bus station to grab a coffee and he observed Dale speaking to two other young adults.

That is the last time anyone in Ottawa saw or heard from Dale. The two youths were not identified.

At the time of her disappearance, Dale was described as a Caucasian female, 5’5” (165 cm), 150 lbs (68 kg). She had long brown hair and blue eyes. Dale sometimes went by the first name of Nancy or Gail.

On that day, Dale was possibly wearing a black jacket and red pants, with multiple rings on her hands, as well as a gold chain, gold earrings and a watch. She carried a black purse and her suitcase was white and blue.

Over the years, Ottawa Police received information that Dale may have been in Alberta in 1991 and in the Toronto area in 1992. Her family believes that she may have been in Saskatchewan or Alberta at some time. Dale has yet to be located.

The OPP age-progressed sketches show what Dale might look like today.

Where is Dale ‘Nancy’ Wyman? Her family would like to know. Dale, who also went by the name Nancy and sometimes, Gail, hasn’t been seen since 1980 when she left her Ottawa, Ontario home in a taxicab, uncertain of where she was going. Her family has not given up and still hopes to hear of her whereabouts. They would like to know she’s ok. Can you help them find closure?

I'm not sure what to make of this MP case. It doesn't sound she went away from home because of a lot of problems, not with family members, not with her self, but we don't really know. On the surface, no need to turn away for-good. Of course she could have encountered struggles/troubles further on in life and that could have estranged her from her family over the years...times went on without contact and it was getting harder to make a U-turn. If she is still alive she could be everywhere...so many places mentioned she could have went to. I also can't imagine you never Google your name, and find out your family is searching for you, but there are exceptions, I guess. I wonder about the traces of her in the 90's. What is that about? A paper trail, placing her somewhere, a sighting, contact with somebody? I would like to know. Seems very relevant to me if you are searching for somebody and it could, depending on the info, erase all other info from her initial missing reports.

#MISSING - Dale Nancy Wyman sometimes went by "Gail." She has three siblings and lived with her parents in #Vanier, #Ontario - a neighbourhood in #Ottawa’s east end. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
On July 16, 1980, when she was 22 years old, Dale walked out of her family’s home at 42 Washington Avenue with blue and white luggage containing all of her belongings. She went to the bank on Montreal Road, where she withdrew money from her RBC account. She had a large black purse, but it is unknown if she had her ID with her. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Shortly after, Dale was seen for the last time in Ottawa, boarding a Greyhound Bus bound for #ThunderBay. She was wearing red pants, a black jacket, gold earrings and several gold chains and rings. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
At the time of her disappearance, Dale had a boyfriend, but his identity is unknown. She may have spent time in the #Edmonton, #Alberta area. She may have also spent time at a hospital in Edmonton, but the sighting could not be confirmed. It’s also possible the Greyhound bus went to Toronto or Montreal.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Dale Nancy Wyman is 5’5” and has a scar on her right knee from an accident, a scar in the middle of her back, and had no tattoos. Her long brown hair reached her knees. ⁣⁣

Almost 40 years have passed since Dale was last seen by anyone who knew her. Her family has never stopped searching for her. Although her parents are now deceased, her three siblings have never given up hope of finding her. Dale is approachable if found. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Dale Nancy Wyman’s birthday is in two days. She turns 62 years old on April 27.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa police at (613) 236-1222 extension 7300 or 2355.''

I also wondered about her chin on one picture, coming back in the recon of how she may look like getting older. It looks like something is going on with her chin....Maybe it's just what is happening if you press your lips in a certain way but it's confusing seeing this back on an aging recon. IMO

Wondered if the chin thing was just a blurry photo but there does seem to be a bit of extra chin skin/cleft chin? in the other pics too, imo.

Likely no connection as the disappearances are years apart, just noting that this woman also went missing after boarding a bus in Ottawa, fwiw, imo, speculation.

''Tara Sculptor
Last seen June 1, 2019, taking a bus to North Bay from Ottawa.

She is described as 5-foot-6 with bad posture, 180 pounds, with green eyes, auburn shoulder-length hair with a bald spot on the back of her head''

Recently, a third party came across the post and contacted Dale’s family to advise she had been living outside the country all this time and that she recently passed away,” police said.

Ottawa police did not specify where she had been living.

Detective Linda Nethercott from the Ottawa Police Missing Persons Unit thanked everyone involved for their help in solving the mystery.

“The family has been waiting over 40 years for this news,” Netercott said.

“Unsolved cases are never closed, and families are waiting to hear, no matter how much time has passed,” Nethercott said.

Just received a notification from the Ottawa Police Instagram that Dale was identified as having been living abroad for many years "all this time", but had unfortunately recently died. Ottawa Police Notice
Thank you for letting us know. Good to know this is resolved. Should we notify an admin, so the header can be changed. I will report it.

More detail at link.
''More than four decades later, a woman from Ohio contacted Wyman's siblings, who had never stopped looking for her. She had seen a video of Wyman's younger sister, Brenda Larche, asking for information to help the family find peace and closure, and realized the woman Larche was looking for was her mother.

Wyman built a life in Ohio, had a family, and had died only a couple of months earlier.

"When they sent me the pictures, I almost fell over. There was no doubt in my mind it was Dale Wyman," said private investigator Linda Davidson.''
