    An Australian man and his American girlfriend have died in suspicious circumstances in Canada, sparking fears they may have been murdered.

    Lucas Fowler is reported to be the son of senior NSW police officer, Inspector Stephen Fowler. He was found dead alongside his girlfriend, North Carolina woman Chynna Deese, in British Columbia earlier this week sparking fears of foul play.

    Chynna’s sister Kennedy Deese wrote they pair were “homicide victims along a remote stretch of highway in Canada while on a road trip.”

    An older style blue mini-van the pair was believed to have been travelling was found at the scene.

    Canadian police are looking for anyone who saw the vehicle or offered assistance. They’re also appealing for anyone that travelled the stretch of highway around the time of the discovery to come forward, according to a RCMP media release.

    Dease Lake murder victim identified as Vancouver's Leonard Dyck

    In a statement, the RCMP said Leonard Dyck was found dead on Friday at a highway pullout about 2 kilometres south of the vehicle fire south of Stikine River Bridge on Highway 37.

    McLeod and Schmegelsky have been charged with second-degree murder in Dyck's death.

    This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

    BC RCMP are releasing a photo of Len and expanding their request for any additional information from anyone who may have spoken to Len during his travels in northern BC. The BC RCMP Major Crime tiplines remain open in support of the Leonard Dyck, Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese homicide investigations.     Speculative opinion should be based on some semblance of known fact as contained in MSM or advised by LE.

    Wild speculation and/or conspiracy theories are not allowed. At this time there is nothing to substantiate that drugs are involved in this case. Without anything to back that up, it is considered a conspiracy theory.

    One of the absolute basic tenets of Websleuths is remaining victim friendly. Making accusations, directly or indirectly, against anyone other than an officially named POI/suspect is not allowed. You may discuss/question what people have said in MSM about others and by others (and in this case a book authored by the suspect’s father AS), but you may not accuse innocent people of involvement, or infer/insinuate their involvement.

    The “haircut” story does not appear to coincide with known dates available via MSM or LE. It is therefore off the table.

    Considering how much time has passed, the lack of confirmed sightings, no reports of further crimes, and the likelihood that they found themselves without a vehicle; I think they are probably hiding out in the woods.

    And if they are hiding out in the woods, they are quite likely dead by now, and may have been for some time.

    I think the next big thing we hear is that their bodies have been discovered.

    Whenever the hell that is.

    I hope that is what is going on. I don't like rooting for someone to be deceased, but I don't see these 2 coming back from this hell they have created for themselves.

    And if alive, they would be very desperate and dangerous. Hopefully they died in their troubled sleep. And our Northern Neighbour would be a safer place.

    Friday there was a community BBQ & information meeting. Half of the RCMP resources are still in town, but the search has been seriously reduced without any additional leads. Some residents are still uneasy, but overall it is a lot more open than it was a week ago.
