"Ottawa police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who reportedly attacked a female jogger at Sheila McKee Park in the city's west end.

Police say the woman in her 30s was jogging at about 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday on trails near Sixth Line Road.

She said she heard a man's voice yelling obscenities at her before she was struck on the back of the head, then repeatedly hit in the face before passing out."

"The woman awoke moments later to the sound of her own cell phone ringing and discovered her attacker had taken photos of her while unconscious, and sent those photos to some of her contacts.

He was long gone by the time she came-to, police say.

She went back to her car in the parking lot at Sheila McKee Park and awaited for police who had already been called by her friends who had received the disturbing photos.

Sources said the woman had scratches and cigarette burns on her body and the hateful attack appeared to be gender-based.

There is no report of a sexual assault."

The jogger's phone contacts must have been horrified to receive those pictures, imo.


" The woman’s friends called the police after receiving the photos. Police met the woman in the park’s parking.

The male suspect is described as five-foot, 10-inches, with broad shoulders and wearing dark clothing and a black mask. He was speaking English.
