Circumstances of Disappearance:
Ellis disappeared during a fishing trip at Reed Lake in Manitoba, Canada on June 27, 1973.
He and a friend were fishing from a canoe and had failed to notice the change in the weather. The water became rough with white caps and ultimately capsized the canoe. Both men hung onto the canoe for about 4 hours until Ellis eventually grew tired and let go. His companion eventually reached the shore and reported the incident. Despite dragging and diving operations, Ellis was never recovered and is presumed to have drowned. No foul play is suspected in this case.
