Map updated to Beechgrove Side Road and St Andrews Road.

I found the intersection of Beechgrove and St. Andrew's Road and made a map but I don't have Sonia's address. Remains were found East of St. Andrew's.

More info:
-remains were found in the woods.
-a jogger smelt a strong stench coming from there on Saturday
-the owner of the property didn't notice anything but people dump their garbage sometimes on Beechgrove

The link is in the post. Oh, I see, CP24 has changed the story a bit. It was in the story and the woman who smelled the bad smell is in some other media reports, citynews.ca, I'll check. It was there in the link when I posted.

There are aerial views in the CTV story. Just watched it without sound, but it looks like the marshy area to the south in the wooded area nearer to Mountainview Road. http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/lo...lle-remains-found-100905/20100905?hub=Toronto

here's the citynews.ca link with the statement from the jogger.

http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/news/local/article/92297--body-discovered-east-of-orangeville

A local resident told CityTV she was jogging on the road yesterday and smelled something bad, and suspected it was a dead animal. She came back Sunday to show her husband the scene.

OK, now I'm a bit confused. What's the map at the end of that article supposed to show? That's not the intersection shown in the other photos.

As of 3:30 p.m. the remains had not been removed from the wooded area where they were found. The coroner and forensic investigators were on scene all morning Sunday and there was no sign of the road being opened.
Check back with The Enterprise for more details as they become available

I'm not sure what that one's about either.

That is one intersection that is blocked by police to keep people from getting near the sight.

There should also be a road block at Horseshoe hill road and Beechgrove.
and also any other intersection that would allow access to the crime scene

The body was found in a wooded area on the north side of Beech Grove Sideroad, between St. Andrew's Road and Mountainview Road, Ontario Provincial Police said.

Also: lots of info in the videos on the CTV link. Info about the jogger and property owner. Remains found where the private properties are on the north side of the road, not the marshy area where there is a conservation area.

I have a bad feeling that this is Sonia. Who would do this to her? So much violence, why??? So horrible, neighbours reported hearing screaming and tires screeching. What about where her car was found. Was it a very public area in town? That is the key to finding out who did this, if the perp dropped off the car in a very public area, there would be cameras too, I suppose. This is terrible.

I agree that it is probably her :-( Wasn't there reports that bedding was missing from her home? If she was carried out of the house in the bedding, it either would have been dumped w/ the body (and if so, and this is Sonia, they already know it's her but of course they still won't say until they have positive ID) OR possibly dumped somewhere else between where the body and the car was found, OR left in the car (which I don't think it was because I think I heard in a video to be on the lookout for it, with a description).

“The killer’s smartest move would be to contact a lawyer and have them contact the OPP,” said Mendelson, now of Mark Mendelson Consulting Inc."

snip...

"The autopsy, as well as other forensics, will be of great assistance — as will the killer’s electronic shadow.

“How many times a day are we on camera?” asks Mendelson. “You can be sure they have already been checking cell phone records, credit cards, debit transactions, looking at video and ATM machines, gas stations, parking lots and tire tracks. This is laborious work, but it will get done.”

Mendelson believes that the killer could be following the news diligently: If the killer is reading this, turn yourself in now. The police will eventually find you. You have made mistakes and they will be discovered.

This is when a killer really starts to sweat.

“Nobody can outsmart three crime scenes,” explains Mark Mendelson, a former detective with the Toronto Police homicide squad.

“Assuming this was her, what police are now faced with are three crime scenes — the home, the car and the location of the body,” said Mendelson, who added his heart goes out to the family.
But make no mistake, they are all over this and a killer should not be sleeping well.

“I am sure he or she will be following the news diligently,” said Mendelson “The killer will be quite nervous and waiting for the door to knock.”

With three crime scenes teaming with forensic evidence, Mendelson said, it’s only a matter of time before that knock comes.

Based on the photos of Sonia's car from this link:

This is my best guess of it's location:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...d=103309402336490999288.00048f8d1be3b84c5c24f

Have a look and let me know what you think.
(The Street View images from this area are very good.)

Yes, it's there. On the right, you can see the trees and the post where police later placed a sign "reserved for Health Unit". This place is so out in the open. What is this "Greenhawk" place? I can only see the work 'supplies'. I hope they have surveillance.
