Thinking of the lovely Taylor and her family, none of whom deserved this Halloween horror.
 
Thinking of sweet Taylor on this day.

All murders are senseless, but this murder seems so over the top for me. To think that this young woman was simply walking along, enjoying life, and this useless piece of s*** attacked her. To make it worse, his father helped him cover it up. It was truly a sickening crime.


How beautiful Taylor is now inextricably linked to these deadbeats is truly sad.

Bless you sweet thing. You sunshine warms all of us.

Thinking of Taylor's family on this Halloween night.
 
KELOWNA — A first-degree murder trial is slated to begin in B.C. Supreme Court in Kelowna for the man accused of a Halloween night attack on a north Okanagan teenager.

The trial for 28-year-old Matthew Foerster of Cherryville is set for six weeks.

It begins with two weeks of legal arguments before a judge, alone, followed by jury selection.

The first day of open court testimony is expected on March 24.

Foerster is accused of attacking 18-year-old Armstrong resident Taylor Van Diest, as she walked to a party in that usually quiet community on Halloween night, 2011.

The victim’s mother, Marie Van Diest, plans to attend all the proceedings, although she says the trial will likely be emotional and very difficult.

Isn't it a very close knit community in Cherryville? How does the community feel about one of their own murdering a woman in another town?
 
To think this organized monster was rolling under the radar in Collingwood Ontario is frightening.

"Foerster was arrested on April 4 at a hotel in Collingwood Ontario by BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes members. He was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Also arrested on April 4 was Matthew Foerster’s father, Stephen Roy Foerster of Cherryville B.C. The senior Foerster has been charged with obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to murder in connection with the homicide death of Taylor Van Diest.

“While the work done by the investigators cannot be overstated, I must also recognize the high degree of support and assistance received from the public and the media at large”, said Insp. Brendan Fitzpatrick. “The combined efforts stand as a prime example of the effectiveness of the public and media working together with police.” Police received approximately 1250 tips from the public concerning the homicide of Taylor Van Diest."
