Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast, coming this Sunday, March 10th on the abduction and murder of Cindy Williams.

On July 26, 1974, four-year-old Cindy Williams was playing on the swings in a Hamilton park around Fennell Ave. E. and Upper Ottawa St.

Other kids in the park watched the little girl get abducted as she willingly climbed into a black Ford.

She had earlier been seen speaking with a man in a black suit. Cops theorized he may have arranged to pick Cindy up later in the day, perhaps promising her a treat.

On April 30, 1975, a man discovered a shallow grave near Grover Rd. in Burlington. Remains were found along with the little girl’s shorts and running shoes. The case remains unsolved.

Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast S1-EP1 Valerie Stevens

Pregnant 19-year-old Valerie Karen Stevens vanished in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 9th, 1989 after leaving her 17-month-old daughter in the care of a teenage couple.

Days later, the police were alerted of her disappearance by the teenage babysitters, who had been taking care of her daughter for four days straight.

Stevens’s skeletal remains were found over 3 years later on October 22nd, 1992 in a wooded area near Burford, Ontario, 100 km southwest of Toronto. An autopsy failed to find the cause of death, but all signs led police to suspect murder.

Was she the victim of a serial killer or something far more personal?
