Blagg defense may try to introduce 'alternate suspect' - December 21st

A Jefferson County judge ruled months ago that Michael Blagg's legal team isn't allowed to present as an alternate suspect a Montana child rapist who had Jennifer and Abby Blagg's names written on a list that included the names of several other missing girls.

But once the former Grand Junction man's murder trial is underway in February, defense attorneys may try to introduce jurors to Phillip Kevin James Bruinsma another way, Deputy State Public Defender Scott Troxell said Thursday in court.

Dec 22nd:

The couple's daughter, Abbie, went missing at the same time as Jennifer but was never found.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys filed motions to allow or deny certain elements of evidence to be seen in court. Prosecutors did not want statements heard from two witnesses who claim to have seen Abbie Blagg in Utah after she was reported missing.

The judge ruled to allow their testimony.

Blagg's new trial will be held in Jefferson County, Colorado, and is set to start in February.

Will this be the thread for the trial, or is there another in "Trials" here?

TIA! I would like to follow this one again!

[h=1]Felon on ‘joyride’ said he saw Abby Blagg at gas station after disappearance[/h]
JEFFERSON COUNTY - On Nov. 16, 2001, Thomas Furry was on a self-described “cross-country joyride of the West” in a stolen vehicle when he thought he saw a little girl who is still missing more than 16 years later.

Furry’s trip started in Pennsylvania. He and a lady companion drove to Las Vegas, and were headed back east on Interstate 70 when they pulled up to a Texaco in Utah at around 8:30 p.m. so she could use the restroom. Furry says he didn’t notice the little girl at first. Instead, it was the woman she was with that caught the now-five-time felon’s eye.
