Does anyone know "how" to look up case #s and see "what" the charges are? Just curious on the sentencing hearing for this one case he has. Wondering if that is for Caden or something else? TIA! [IMG]

Here's what happened on the 1/9/20 hearing.

Murder Charges Dropped Against Leland Pankey, Father Of Dead Boy Found In Denver Storage Unit

    January 9, 2020 at 10:07 pm
DENVER (CBS4)– The father of a 7-year-old boy whose body was found in a Denver storage unit has pleaded guilty under a deal with prosecutors. Forty-year-old Leland Pankey pleaded guilty Thursday to child abuse resulting in death and tampering with a deceased body in the death of Caden McWilliams.

But prosecutors dropped a murder charge against him. His wife also previously pleaded guilty in the boy’s death.

Now wondering what case #D162018CR9761 is about regarding the status hearing on 2/28 is for?

NO murder charges for parents of ‘model student’ little boy found dead in concrete-filled dog kennel

    January 10, 2020

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann explained in court documents that they sought the plea deal because it would be hard to convict Leland Pankey of first-degree murder without an exact cause of death. McCann also said they did not want to traumatize the victim’s family with a trial.

Elisha Pankey pleaded guilty in August to child abuse resulting in death. Her sentencing date is pending.

Leland Pankey faces between 17 and 72 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for February 28.

and Elisha does have a Status hearing on 4/3 according the court site.

Oh how I wish both of these animals get the MAXIMUM possible sentence. Caden looked like such a sweet but sad little guy and to end up cemented in a dog kennel is beyond comprehension. :(

Leland Pankey, Caden McWilliams' father, sentenced in death of 7-year-old

    February 28, 2020
    .....
Denver District Court Judge A. Bruce Jones sentenced 40-year-old Pankey to 72 years in prison for abusing Caden so horribly that the second-grader died with a fractured skull, a broken arm and weighing only 27 pounds. Pankey and the boy’s mother then wrapped the Caden’s body in trashbags, sealed the bags with duct tape, entombed the child in concrete and shoved the concrete in a dog carrier before hiding it in a Denver storage unit.
    [.....]
Pankey pleaded guilty in January to child abuse resulting in death and tampering with a deceased human body. The sentence included 48 years for the child abuse charge and 24 years for tampering. Pankey’s wife, Elisha Pankey, pleaded guilty to similar charges and will be sentenced April 1.

Woohoo that's gives me some solace knowing that LP will be leaving prison toes up in a pine box! It doesn't bring back this innocent boy, but at least justice was served for him.

Next up...…..EP, hopefully she leaves prison in a pine box too!

    #RIPCaden

Strange - I can't find Elisa Pankey on the court site anymore. I've tried all the different last names for her - McWilliams-Pankey, Pankey, McWilliams....

    Did she already get sentenced?

Anyone want to try the Colorado court site?

That's a slap in the face IMO. Did she get a reduced sentence by cooperating against LP? Sickening
