Yogi and Boo Boo and a pica nicka basket !.....I swear he's going to be naming the bears soon!!!
I wish I could find Yogi with a backpack and a fishing pole for my aviator! On a serious note: the defense is struggling.....

Per Dr Johnson on re direct...."Highly unlikely" that a bear would attack a 13 year old child in mid November of 2012.

On direct the prosecution had this witness explain that an animal will not move a carcass or parts over a long distance over difficult terrain.

Site#1 where the most of the remains where found and site#2 where the skull was found were 1.5 miles apart with terrain going up 1500 ft and down 500 ft.
BAM!!!!!

Why would there be nothing of Dylan's if he had just run away or went fishing or went to see his friends? Even if he had been abducted, there would have been belongings left behind.
It's about time you showed up.

The problem I had with Mark's statement was that he made it without hesitation. He didn't say "let me check to see if I can find something of Dylan's here". He said there's nothing here as soon as he was asked about possible scent articles.

Dr Johnson gave us and the jury a lot of valuable information. We found that because of bears hibernation dates and behavior a couple of weeks before it's virtually impossible a bear is responsible for his death.

Further testimony from Dr Johnson makes it very unlikely that a bear would emerge from hibernation and move Dylan's skull 1.5 miles over extreme vertical terrain. JMO

Photos from age 11 to 13 of Dylan. That's all I can remember.

Also photos of Elaine and old driver’s license. We will get to see pics of them when they update exhibits.

Did a cougar kill Dylan? I guess it's possible. But according to the expert witness it's statistically unlikely. Only two fatal cougar attacks ever in Colorado.

And if it was a cougar the witness said that it may cache it's prey but not move it very far. Certainty not over 1.5 miles of difficult vertical terrain. A cougar attack seems virtually impossible to me. JMO

There’s more to go but if the trial was over yesterday what do you think the outcome would be? I think there is reasonable doubt right now.
I don't see much reasonable doubt. Why didnt D text or message any of his friends of or family ?

Why would he leave and take ALL of his belongings early that morning?

He was super excited to see his old friends and had plans to see them early that same morning. Why would he go silent at 9 pm and never reach out again?

Why would there be blood under the carpet?

Animal attack "highly unlikely" in Dylan Redwine's death, biologist testifies

During the fall of 2012, Johnson was part of a multi-year research project that was tracking bear behavior in the Durango area, particularly focusing on conflicts between bears and humans. The researchers collared and tracked more than 400 bears, and pinpointed the time of year that bears hibernated.

In 2012, bears in the Durango area hibernated early, she testified. The average start date for hibernation among tracked bears was Oct. 11, she said, and the latest tracked bear to hibernate that year did so on Nov. 11 — days before Dylan disappeared.

Bear conflicts with humans are more likely in areas with ample human food sources, like trash cans or houses, which was not the case in the area of Middle Mountain where Dylan’s bones were found, she said. Also, bears become less active in the weeks before hibernation, she testified, and stop looking for food. The animals tend to avoid areas near forest roads, like the one Dylan’s bones were found near, during hunting season, she said.

I spent the last 7 days with my 91 year old mom. ;)...no wifi unless I go down to the lobby.

So I am a week behind. I did read on my phone but had scant connection so it was just quick bursts of time to read.
