The sheriff’s office declined to explain what if any kind of evidence they recovered from the home of Gannon Stauch, who has been missing for a week. A mobile crime lab was on scene to process whatever may have been found.

“COLORADO SPRINGS — A mobile crime unit pulled up to the home of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch Monday afternoon. Investigators could be seen carrying various items, all covered in what looked like brown paper, from inside the home, and carefully loading them into their vehicle.

‘The mobile unit that’s there should reflect to you that this is not done,’ said Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deborah Mynatt. ‘They don’t just stop one time.’

A few hours later, the mobile crime unit drove off, but several deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office stayed behind.

Otherwise, the Lorson Ranch neighborhood was quiet.

Gannon Stauch was reported missing one week ago, on January 27, last seen by his stepmother. His father was away at the time, training out-of-state with his National Guard unit.

For days, teams of people from various law enforcement and search agencies have combed through the neighborhood, looking for any sign of the young boy. The FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team is also now assisting in the search, though the El Paso County Sheriff’s office clarified that team’s invovlement does not imply an abduction has occurred.

Freezing drizzle has been an issue in the Fountain area late Monday afternoon. In the evening, snow chances are projected to improve, and temperatures will drop to single digits.

‘Just to imagine an 11-year-old out there in this type of weather, even if the weather was okay, just completely lost and unaware,’ said Mynatt. ‘We have to act quickly.’

Over the course of this investigation, Mynatt says, the focus of the search has shifted to an area off of Janitell Road, not far from the county jail.

FOX21 News crews visited that area late in the afternoon on Monday, but did not see any activity.

Thank you humble!!! Last time I heard things covered in brown bags was Kelsey Berreths home. And we know now how that ended.

Wow!!!

Did anyone else just see the coverage on Fox 21? They neighbor found some video footage on his surveillance and showed Gannon's Dad this morning and then they called LE. He said it's the tip they've been looking for. I don't think I can post the actual link until the live is over.

Edit * He said he thinks it's the break LE has been looking for.

Further to the following tweet which Nicole Fierro sent (below), she confirmed on the news segment tonight that they are waiting to get the "green light" from the authorities to share the "new piece of evidence".

It does look as if it is something captured on their neighbor's security cam - we shall see.

UPDATE: Seven days after his disappearance, a Metro Crime Lab team spent hours at 11-year-old Gannon Stauch’s home today. They went in with gloves and tools and left with several evidence bags. Have live reports with exclusive details about a new piece of evidence at 4@5 on

They also have some surveillance footage. They did not go into detail but there seem to be answers there.

Just a guess on my part but I think this will show SM's car leaving the house in the middle of the night. Hope I'm wrong.

Restoration Church leaders at the church say the Stauch family is part of the congregation and that Gannon attends Wednesday night activities.

The church appears to be about 2 miles from the Lorson Ranch area. If this area is familiar to GS, every direction surrounding the neighborhood looks fairly remote on the map linked below. Not exactly where a kid would have reason to be walking late in the evening. MOO

I hope so too:(

Unfortunately this doesn't look good. The crime unit was seen taking evidence from inside the home which leads me to believe they think something happened inside the home. The neighbor who was wearing an Air Force shirt said he shared information he foubd with the father and the father broke down.

"Typically, National Guard members are required to attend one drill weekend each month and one annual training period (usually 2 weeks in the summer) each year. Weekend drills usually consist of one Saturday and Sunday each month, but occasionally include reporting for duty on Friday night."

Another option to this is called AGR - Active Guard Reserves. Pretty much it is somebody in the National Guard/Reserves that works like they are active duty. So they would go to which ever unit they are in everyday as if they were active duty, in uniform. They get paid as they are active, but still considered National Guard/Reserves.

Edit: Depending on the unit, people in AGR may (usually) get first dibs on extra training/schools before somebody that is just regular Guard/Reserves. If what I have read is correct then there may have been training going on in OK for people in AGR about the same time BD was there. Hint Hint

This is so very troubling....WHERE IS GANNON??? What happened to this lil boy???
Whatever LE has uncovered, I so hope it leads them straight to Gannon...bring him home to his loved ones

Please let it be Gannon walking away and not a car leaving,please...

If the neighbor's video surveillance showed GS walking away, we would not be seeing images of brown bag after brown bag being carried out of that house by crime scene techs.

That ain't what was caught on tape. Sadly.

Ok, just watched that news segment.

Gannon’s father’s reaction to seeing the neighbor’s footage, was to break down crying.

That was obviously followed by today’s search of the house. I’m wondering if SM was caught on video carrying Gannon to her car or something.

Whatever he saw, it’s very bad.

1) him leaving with or without someone else 2) possible delivery truck leaving with more people than it had when it arrived 3) possible unidentified newish car showing up briefly and leaving, but in no particular order of probability. I wonder if the videos were re-examined to look for things at night, ie Sunday night. Maybe before they were examining videos to concentrate around the hours they thought he had gone missing, ie afternoon of Monday, but not earlier.
