I may have missed it, but do we know who's on the stand today?

Good morning!

Yesterday, we saw Juror 12 excused, the end of CSI Bell's testimony, and for most of the day, the testimony of HH.

I have no idea who is taking the stand today, so if anybody does know, please enlighten us!

What "parent" does not say good-night to a child at bedtime, give a child a secure feeling of sort? Why no tucking Gannon in at night or anything? Defendant going down at that time, imo, trying to alibi of sort or justify action? Moo

Harley said she and her mom went downstairs that Sunday night to tell Gannon goodnight. "Not something she'd (Letecia) normally do." They both went down there but Harley didn't go in his room.
I wonder what condition Gannon was in when LC and HH went downstairs to say good-night to Gannon. He was sleeping alone in the basement with all the windows open. HH testified it was extremely cold there. He was covered with blankets to his chin and appeared to be sleeping. He was likely drugged at this time due to the burn pain. We know he wasn't dead yet because it was a gunshot to the head that killed him. Had the stabbings begun at this point?

They did talk about this, and HH said she had never known Gannon to light a candle. The candle incident wasn't in Gannon's bedroom, though. It was in the downstairs living area.

EDIT: Link to my notes on this section of HH's testimony:

Oh thank you! Did not watch entire HH testimony and missed any discussion here as well. Well okay, then. I'm still thinking she tried to set him on fire.

I believe HH did a great job testifying for the prosecution yesterday. She was credible and knew when to say "I don't remember" when necessary. The defense didn't score any points IMO during cross examination. The defense's only option now is attempting to prove LS became insane when AS left and LS found herself alone with Gannon and suddenly mentally unable to deal with his needs. Defense will have to call strong, persuasive witnesses to convince the jury of not guilty by reason of insanity. Don't think that will happen though. moo

Likely not since he walked to the car the next day

“I’m still in shock. I defended her for years. I just feel manipulated and lied to,” Harley Hunt said Monday at the trial of her mother,
*So, will Harley be cross examined this morning?
edit: continue?

The day ended when Young asked Hunt: "Do you still love your mother?"

Hunt burst into tears, did not answer and Young had the question struck from the record.

She does seem to be a very 'young' 20. But so smart, to finish high school in three years. My heart hurts for her - she hopefully is living a nice life in South Carolina and here she is back in Colorado 'at the scene of the crime'. If I were her I would have been dreading this. And seeing my mom after three years.
She was asked when she had last 'seen' her mom ---but he didn't ask when they last spoke. I think she probably has spoken to her in that time.

RSBM

In case anyone was wondering, HH finished her testimony yesterday, was cross examined by the defense, answered a few questions posed by the jury, and then a couple of questions from prosecution at the end going off those questions. She then stepped down. Whoever we have on the stand today will be someone else.

She didn't buy talcum powder.

This link has the list of items.

Also, HH implied on the stand that the lotion, at least, was for herself, so I don't know if the oil and cotton rounds were, too. I think the elastics and double bubble (bubble gum) were for Little sis, but I could be wrong. I can't recall if HH spoke about those items.

Oh good, because that was the one ting that didn't make sense. It was *two* kinds of deodorizer, one of them baking soda.

Egyptians used natron in the first step of stopping decomp/mummification.

Natron is a rising compound. Baking soda/powder is perhaps the nearest, and uses much the same chemicals. But it won't be exactly the same...(see Wikipedia)

Egyptians actually oiled a body then baked it in a compound very similar to baking powder, which has similar drying effects. They used a sesame oil based lotion as the first step. This allowed them to preserve the body from decomp for 40 days (of course, they did other surgical things to the body too, but these two steps would both lower the rate of decomp, along with leaving Gannon outside in the cold).

Don't know what brand Extra Strength Deodorizer she bought, but this is a top selling one:

It is mostly more baking soda, but with jasmine and citrus (Egyptians also used spices at the first step for fragrance).

Baking soda is a dessicant/drying agent. This slows bacterial growth and helps remove many kinds of odors.

I'm not saying she looked this up, but I'm not saying she didn't, either. If she did, surely she did it well before the murder - but maybe not. Her mind doesn't work like other people's and it jumps around a lot. From wikipedia:

A dry body will not decompose efficiently. Moisture helps the growth of microorganisms that decompose the organic matter, but too much moisture could lead to anaerobic conditions slowing down the decomposition process.

For the time she kept Gannon in the suitcase in the van - and in parking lots, etc, it would have been cold. As they drove out of colder country toward Florida, she had to have gotten more and more worried about decomp - particularly fluids - alerting HH to what she had done; meantime, Gannon was hidden in a suitcase under a bunch of other stuff in the van, IMO.

I only have three minutes, to load the dishwasher, the washing machine, sweep the floor, feed the pets, water my flowers, and fold all the socks laying all over the bed with me. I better hurry.
