I'll be surprised if Ika Eden is declared competent at her next hearing. I have little sympathy for her even though I do believe she was manipulated by Ceus. Still, LE visited the property at one point and she could have spoken up, especially since it appears that at one time she was the primary caretaker for the girls and claims to have loved them.Wednesday, July 29th:
*Setting Hearing (Murder) (@ 9am MT) - CO - Makayla Victoria Roberts (10) & Hannah Elizabeth Rosaline Marshall (8) (June, 2017, Norwood; found Sept. 8, 2017) – for *Madani "Ama" Ceus (37/now 39) (from Haiti) charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder, criminally negligent homicide & 2 counts felony child abuse causing death, no bond. Plead not guilty.
Trial began on 1/13/20. Trial moved from San Miguel County to Gunnison County & will run to 2/7/20. 9 women & 5 men ranging in age from 20s to 60s or 70s with 2 alternates. 2/6/20: the jury returned a verdict: Not guilty of first-degree murder, but guilty of both charges of 2 counts of child abuse resulting in death, a class-2 felony. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 24 years. Ceus’ sentencing is set for 4/22 at 10am in Telluride. Defense vows appeal due to ‘substantial legal errors”. 6/19/20: Sentenced to 64 years.

7/2/20 Update: Child: Status hearing on 7/2/20. Murder: Setting hearing on 7/29/20. 7/2/20: Child: Termination of parental rights hearing on 8/20 & 8/21/20.
*Ika Eden – Found incompetent to stand trial; in State hospital in Pueblo. Next status hearing on 7/31/20.
*Ashford Nathaniel Archer aka Nathan Yah aka Nathanyah Nitchitu (50) – found guilty & sentenced to 24 years in prison. 5/8/19: Appealing his guilty verdict. 1/29/20: The notice of appeal document from July is for now restricted to case parties; the opening for appeal 4/14/20. The appeal will be handled through the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.
*Nashika Leonie Bramble (36) – Jury verdict guilty of 2 counts of 1st degree murder. Sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison without parole. Bramble’s appeal brief had been due Thursday 2/27/20, but the Court of Appeals granted an extension until July 16. Until the appeal is filed, the specifics of what Bramble is contesting are not public.
*Frederick "Alec" A. Blair – Plead guilty. Sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Ah well, at least the worst culprits will get their just punishment. What a messed up case. I'll never understand doomsday cults.
