I wish more people would come forward whom knew CW pre SW.
Ex girlfriends, maybe some ex co workers. Lots of silence :(

I respect your opinion and will say that mine is subject to change as well. However, with respect to the transitions and the children's possible behavior following the birthday party, being fussy etc., (things that parents deal with on a regular basis), it is not unheard of for a parent's reaction to those kind of things to cause an unintentional death. What I have trouble swallowing in this scenario is that he would go on tyo kill two other people to hide the accident instead of calling 911. Seems unlikely. MOO

I agree with Inthedetails opinion (if not planned than this snapping most likely) but also have a hard time understanding why he would have killed everyone else in addition in that scenario. But perhaps it is as simple as 'already done the worst, now it doesn't matter anymore'. Then the motives of wanting to be free from his family, hating SW kicked in and he killed them all.

If this scenario is true, I though don't think it was a complete accident unrelated to him (like choking on food), more like harming the child intentionally and unintentionally causing death.

What if he suffocated the children with a pillow and then placed Shan'ann's hands on their necks and place his hand and fingers directly on top of hers and squeezed to make the bruises match her fingers. Remember how insistant the defense was on wanting DNA evidence from the neck? I Originally, I thought the crude would destroy that, but it wouldn't have if he had placed their bodies in bags and dropped bag and body in the crude.

After death, if you squeeze or push very hard to make an impression it does not make a bruise. I know that from experience.

Also I know it from following trials and waiting up here. In my opinion.

The blood must be flowing to make a bruise.

Doesn't it seem to anyone else that they would have those data by now? I am surprised that nearly a month later that stuff is being "requested". Does a person charged with so many counts of murder actually have the right to be somewhat politely asked for this? And to say "no" if he wants?

You know they must have his fingerprints on file by now via the arrest but they have to have warrants to get things from the defendant like DNA samples, etc.

Perhaps the need for a photograph of his hands wasn't necessary until now. And this is just procedure to obtain that evidence.

It's all part of due process.

Gitana1 - listening to the radio show now. WOW great job.
I agree with you ALL.
I really can't wait for the trial :)

Ah yes, makes perfect sense, thanks. @BabyButterfly also pointed out he was referring to the internal door from garage to house.
I was picturing the big metal garage door being unlocked, which seemed odd, not to mention risky.
(Where I live, garages are usually separate buildings not linked to the house so wasn't sure exactly what the security set-up was.)

ETA: Sorry, that was a reply to @gitana1

Re your last sentence, in another case the guy did similar to what you mention except killed only one to cover it up, and before he called 911.

Christopher Watts, the Frederick man charged with murder in connection with the deaths of his pregnant wife and two young daughters, wants an investigation into whether prosecutors or police leaked information about the case to reporters, court documents show.

Prosecutors denied the accusation in a court filing and said that much of the information reported by news outlets came from the defense’s own court documents.

“There is no evidence any lawyer or other employee of the (Weld County) District Attorney’s Office has violated any rule of professional conduct or corresponding order of this Court,” the document states.

I just purchased TWO FACE: THE MAN UNDERNEATH CHRISTOPHER WATTS by Nick van der Leek on Amazon Kindle. Has anyone else read it yet?

I have screenshots of SW talking about the nut incident and the reaction Bella had to them. Am I allowed to post them?

If link no longer available, I think you can paraphrase what you read in screen shot as your opinion, but be certain to emphasize it's your opinion only.

I alerted on my own post a while back to ask about screenshots and Sillbilly told us they were not allowed. AFAIK, paraphrasing and posting as your own opinion is okay, but I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble, so JMO! Lol

I hear ya. That is a sticky point.

The only answer I can come up with to explain why he wouldn't call 911 after accidentally killed a child is: panic, fear, a dash of hope he could cover it up. But mostly panic and fear.

And by that, I mean fear of the legal consequences as well as fear of facing his wife after she finds out (even if an accident), fear of facing family and public knowledge that he did such a horrible thing. Imagine telling your spouse you killed your child. I'd rather die than do that, but perhaps he just wanted to cover it all up from her instead.

Panic and fear can kill logic.

But, IDK, of course, if this scenario happened, but it seems to fit his personality more than a planned murder of all his children and wife. (though I do still consider that a possibility)

Disclaimer: I think he is responsible. I'll easily change ideas when the facts lead me in another direction. I know other people have different opinions and I know people don't like when I think aloud on the board and try out new ideas. My opinion changed after seeing the videos but I know other people see no hints of anything in the videos.

jmo

?
I never said anything about innocence, nor do I think you think he is innocent. You're the one implying. ;)

I definitely misunderstood then, b/c I quoted you:
I agree, if he was innocent of ill intent his behavior would be different. Unless the defense can bring in a psychiatrist with an explanation this will be the last thread in his undoing.

Well, pretty big deal if the prosecuting atty is publicly saying the defendant is a monster. IMO
I believe that was another case, but why is it a big deal? He/she is the prosecuting attorney. The charges they've filed pretty much say the same thing; he's a monster! There is no gag order. Would your opinion be the same if a defense attorney posted CW was a loving husband and great daddy and a saint?

To be clear, I would like to see all of them keep their opinions to themselves. What I want is facts!

It's happened before. Read the MacDonald case.

I retract what I said earlier, it was an le on the case. But because of the manner in which it was shared I'm not certain I can post the link. If I can get the proper link I will. But as it is, it was her opinion, and I concur with her opinion. Also, we do know for a fact that the defense is accusing the DA of leaking information (link posted previously in this thread) so it's not necessarily false info (albeit, it's not right for the DA to leak anything.)

I was not implying CW was "innocent of ill intent" in my thought experiment. (I believe my words were : 'Is it possible he was absolutely terrified, as opposed to his actions ONLY pointing to a nefarious coverup that can only point to him having killed all of them.')
I was contemplating whether or not his hiding and cover-up could be attributed to a "psychotic break" of sorts as opposed to proving he himself killed the girls.
Again, I think most of us who are attempting to do some analytical thinking around whether it's even possible CW's version of the truth could be accurate have never implied that CW isn't guilty of murder and coverup. He is. I mean no snarky disrespect- but this is not only obvious, but I find it slightly odd to imply we believe CW is an innocent individual. On the contrary- most of us have repeatedly said we know he is guilty of horrific acts. We are only trying to analyze his version of events.
(EBM to "killed the children" to "girls" for clarity.)
Believe me -- how I wish it was a psychotic break. However, mental experts have opined that calm, collected, and even joyful media interviews 36-48 hours later do not follow psychotic breaks.

Maybe I have that wrong, then, how did he open the garage door after saying the key pad was broken? IIRC I remember the discussion about the garage not having a side door, photos were posted. So he was in effect saying that she left for the imaginary play date via the garage door, swung up from the inside? After SHE blocked the front door and the sliding door from opening? Bizarre.
But what else could he say?

No one should be leaking any information.
