Looking at the NC trip, her posts suggested she wanted to come home, she missed Colorado. She hated the weather it was bad on her health and the girls allergies in the weather too. Her parents I am sure would support her just as I would assume his family would support him. That is usually how divorce works imo. She seemed to love Colorado imo from her posts and love her life there. She even had already enrolled the girls in school there. She came back to Colorado and only one reason imo would be she wanted to. Why leave NC if your plan was to live there? If she made more money then he would maybe not have to pay as much support right? If he was happy with her gone and wanted to be single as some suggest, why be mad she was leaving him? IMP The only logical thing to me seems is she was upset . She was pregnant with two children. She based her business recruitment on lifestyle. She would lose CW as her promoter. She would lose everyone under him as well. If she recruited him early she could lose most of her downline pay. She would lose eligibility of car. She would lose the house if they chose to sell. So I am not understanding the motive for CW based upon these factors . Moo

I appreciate your perspective, Shekkiec. But these really aren't factors, IMO. SW was well aware of how the business worked (she taught others), and would have known she would NOT have lost everyone under CW, if he had decided to leave the business. Those clients would have transferred directly under her, and all remain in her down-line. She would not have lost any income, or the monthly stipend for her vehicle. Her income would have increased, not decreased. I know this to be a fact. My daughter is a promoter for Thrive, and has received the business (and income/down-line) of any promoter under her who has made the decision not to continue promoting the products.

IMO, SW was not concerned/upset about the financial ramifications of a possible separation or divorce (if she knew it was happening). So, for me, this is not a valid theory. SW had no reason to strangle her children if she would have been better off without CW's lying cheating ways, and she could have easily made it financially without him. But I don't think she even had those thoughts. I believe she wanted to return to Colorado because she loved her husband, and had no idea CW may not have felt the same way about her. However; I have no doubt SW would have continued to be very successful in any state or community she chose to live in by promoting her business through social media, should a separation or divorce have occurred.

IMO, this is all moot anyway. He strangled her. And not because of Thrive. And not because she was upset and strangled her children first, according to his charges.

You make an interesting point. This link shows at least one Colorado juror shares your opinion about things favorable to the defense and the weight of them. I'm not familiar with the case he refers to but you probably are:

Becker said he changed his mind on capital punishment after serving on the Edward Montour death penalty case in Douglas County.

"I walked away angry, I walked away disappointed in our judicial system," he said. "I felt the death penalty is not justice. It's vengeance and vengeance doesn't belong in our courts."

Becker's time on a death penalty jury came to an abrupt and emotional end after the judge let the defense present evidence sympathetic to the defendant. Evidence Becker believes should have come to light long before he was asked to potentially put a man to death. Evidence so strong, the prosecution ended up taking the death penalty off the table.

Should Chris Watts face the death penalty? A look at capital punishment in Colorado

If Becker opposed the death penalty, he should have said so during jury selection. JMO.

This is a good article on the DP debate but I'm having a difficult time relating this excerpt to CW's potential trial. I don't see a situation right now where information sympathetic or favorable to this defendent is not being presented or is being prevented from being heard. There's not even a jury in place yet.

The only source for potentially favorable evidence for CW thus far may have come from the autopsy reports that the defense could have presented in a request for bail hearing. They chose not to, they weren't prevented from doing so. All jmo

Becker didn't oppose the death penalty during jury selection.

"If he was happy with her gone and wanted to be single as some suggest, why be mad she was leaving him?"

Easy answer for that question. We see it time and time again, with family annihilators.

>>>>FREEDOM from responsibilities. He didn't want his pregnant wife to leave the home, have their 3rd child, then file for divorce and child support.

He would NEVER be truly 'single', as long as he had 3 young children and an ex wife. And it is hard to start a 'new life' with so much baggage, all with your last name, calling, req.esting things, making arrangements for health insurance and holidays, and being NEEDY.

"If she made more money then he would maybe not have to pay as much support right..."

But the only way she would owe more money would be if he split the custody time in half. How is he going to do that and continue working and dating? He'd be devoting all of his free time to childcare and that was not what he envisioned in his 'new life.'

but with her travel schedule unlikely she could handle full time custody. She had to put kids in school and she used sitters. Imo it was likely she only had them 4 hours daily since they were in bed by 630.

I’m suggesting she promoted on his page and did all the leg work. He was an introvert. She would benefit and so would he if his sales were great. I am suggesting she found out about affair maybe that’s why she “didn’t feel well” I wouldn’t either. NUA had spoken with her about things too it seems. I am suggesting she was frantic and scared and mad. It seems no different then the logic he would kill not to pay child support. I am unsure how losing everything and feeling alone, betrayed being hormonal due to pregnancy is not a motive but losing money paying child support and feeling hormonal bc of steroids is a motive .

There were no reports of her acting frantic, scared or mad in the hours leading up to her death. She did tell NUA that she was going to need her continued support, as a good friend, because she sensed there were problems in the marriage and knew it was serious.

But no one, of the many who saw her and communicated with her, said she was frantic or angry. She was not feeling well, reportedly.

Also the “happy with her gone “ is a motive I have seen on here as well as “she doesn’t need him she is the bread winner” “ he doesn’t want to pay child support” “he had affair wants freedom and jealous she didn’t want him” I am confused that no matter what other possibility could be given as to her having a motive the narrative flips as to why she could not have one reason to.

Probably the relationship with the AP was kaput as of that weekend, and if so, IMO he blamed Shan'nan and the girls for loss of the AP and a free lifestyle that would have been his, all his. If only there were no anchors and chains, like there might not have been, their having left by the back construction route and all that. IMO.

Which is why she would have gone home to NC. Her family would be thrilled to watch the girls when Mom was away on business.

Possibly not feeling well bc she was upset about Chris. She was looking for a Romantic getaway for them . Again it seems she was actively wanting to save marriage. Imo frantic would happen at home when she found out he was leaving.

She left NC to come back. She was planning a gender reveal and a life there. She was trying to save her marriage. Which is it? He is paying for Colorado house and school there so he kills them or she is going back to NC? Also her business would be grandly impacted on downsales.

IIRC the hairdresser and also her mother said the marriage was in trouble. So she was hardly surprised by finding out he was "leaving". Of course he didn't want to "leave", he wanted them GONE. IMO

Like what?

(RE: something can still be viewed as “good for the defense”, but not warrant/support a new hearing via Amandaaa)

The first thing that came to my mind was because of the fuss made by the defense over the gathering of DNA on the girls' necks, etc. I wouldn't put it past him one bit to have placed Shanann's hands around the girls' necks after he murdered her, just to bolster that defense if needed. Or as some odd hate-filled symbolism towards his wife. Or (this is WAY out in left field and completely improbable to me) possibly an AP that no one knows about, him putting foreign DNA there in some fashion somehow? Who knows. But none of his DNA on Bella and Cece, or Shanann's or a stranger's DNA there, could be an example.

I fully believe some are waiting for anything at all to exonerate him of murdering his daughters and might actually buy it. Anything other than his DNA and imprints directly on their necks will be "reasonable" doubt to some... and possibly to potential jurors.

ALL JMO.

Why is it impossible to see SW had a motive? I find it plausible she had several.
1. Divorce
Woman have killed husbands that left them
2.money
She had a lot to lose
The exact reasons CW had motive are the same for her

Perhaps she posted about a romantic getaway to rile his AP up. She probably had her suspicions the AP was stalking her fb.

Yes. That may have been why she was posting so much praise of him too. Saying she' missed him, couldn't wait to see him'.

According to the VI, that is why he closed down his FB. Seems to me he didn't want his AP to read that stuff. I think SW was posting it on purpose, to troll the AP.

Working, traveling single mothers handle full custody just fine every single day raising healthy happy children who have baby sitters and attend school. Shanann certainly seemed capable of doing whatever she put her mind to. And she certainly seemed to love her babies more than anything in the world. I don't think there is anything she wouldn't have done to ensure their health and well being.

The travel I've mostly seen was the vacations that Shannan earned to take her murdering husband on with an occasional short business trip.

Shanann spent time taking care of her daughters on her own just fine during her trip to NC, and I'm certain spent more than 4 hours daily with them. The 4 hour statement is confusing to me. Shannan chose her profession as a way to spend more time with her children. She was their primary caretaker while her husband was at work having an affair.

So who was attending to CeCe and Bella during the remaining 20 hours of the day and making sure they were cared for if not her? Certainly not him, he was up and off jogging in the morning, working out, looking for the best shirt to wear, and at work with his mistress.
All JMO

So SW enrollled them in school and came home trying to plan a getaway ?
