It is really strange and I’m not sure what to make of it either. During CV19, especially in the early days/months, most stores, eateries etc., were being extra cautious and were closed to the public, only offering online ordering and curbside pick-up. Not only that, I’d assume businesses emptied their trash bins on a daily basis too. Again, being cautious during CV19, they’d pay extra attention to making sure everything was cleaned out every day, including all trash. Most places, CV19 or not, empty trash daily/end of business day as a general rule, so I have to wonder who in their right mind would go looking for an item or receipt 3-4 days after it was discarded thinking it would still be there?!
I suppose maybe someone whose nerves were shot, desperate to find something they discarded all those days ago, hoping and praying the trash from 3-4 days ago hadn’t been emptied yet. If that’s the case, then yeah, I suppose BM would’ve been pretty desperate at that point. Or, did he discard something there earlier in the day on Tuesday and think better of it and went back to retrieve it thinking no one would be around to catch him rummaging through the trash?
I suppose too, that BM could’ve just been trying to make himself look busy, you know, because maybe the abductors trashed her helmet and clothes on their way out of town.
Or something.
Like you say, we may never know, but maybe we will find out if it fits somehow with all the other evidence collected this past year.
The even stranger, more bizarre thing is what he wrote on the note as a (non) description of his missing wife. Seems all that was on his mind were biking items/attire, so much so that he forgot to jot down his missing wife’s physical characteristics and a phone # of who to contact in case she was found. SMDH.
