People always say that after the fact, Footwarrior. Where is the proof? Where are the police calls?

A hundred million Americans play those games--they are very popular. Probably a hundred million Americans suffer from some sort of mental illness. Also, the same amount own guns--yet we only have a few that go on a killing spree. There are people who want to blame all tragedies on objects or vulnerable groups.
Violence is now being blamed on video games, before that TV, before that movies, before that comic books, before that dime novels, before that penny dreadfuls.
If people really wanted to stem the violence, they would be willing to teach anger management throughout jr and sr high school. However, it is easier to blame an inanimate object instead of the person doing the violence.

Let's see. Adam Lanza, Seung-Hui Cho, Elliot Rodger, Vester Flanagan, Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, James Huberty, Marc Lepine, Dylann Roof, and Charles Whitman. Some have mental illness, while others did not.

They all are injustice collectors. They made their life about how life is cruel to them and how everything is unfair to them. Everything small thing is a massive injustice to them.

Not all injustice collectors have been mass killers. Non-mass murderer injustice collectors do occur. Examples are Betty Broderick, Gertrude Baniszewski, Lori Drew, Yoselyn Ortega, and Melissa Huckaby.

Of course not all injustice collectors become mass killers like them.

Where do you get that Lanza was an injustice collector. Data does not support that individuals with Aspergers are predisposed to violence or criminal behavior. In fact Aspergers symptoms would have made the carrying out of the mass shooting very difficult. Clumsiness and repetitive behaviors among the symptoms.

I never suggested that Asperger's had anything to do with it. Most mass killers do not have Asperger's.

Doctor: School shooting a 'ritualistic' act

A pseudocommando is "driven by strong feelings of anger and resentment, in addition to having a paranoid character. He plans out the offense ritualistically, and comes prepared with a powerful arsenal of weapons," writes Knoll in his report "Mass Murder Causes, Classification and Prevention." Knoll also says these killers usually don't expect to survive their attack.

Revisiting Adam Lanza: The Official Sandy Hook Report

He may have resented her for what he perceived as some failure on her part. He may have envied the children at Sandy Hook because his mother used to volunteer at the school. If he felt abandoned by her and jealous of the students receiving her attention, it would explain his rage toward her and his rage toward the students. Or perhaps his murder of children was related to being sexually tempted by them. It may also have been related to his time at the school. There are reports that he was picked on by his peers, but also reports that he wasn’t, as well as his mother’s indication that he loved the school and was happy there.

Like other psychotic shooters, he may have attacked the school out of extreme envy, killing the children who were living normal happy lives, the kind of life that was always out of reach to him. Alternatively, he may have been acting out commands by auditory hallucinations or the urgings of paranoid delusions. A computer of his contained “two fictional writings of being attacked by babies and attempts to defend against them.” Perhaps Lanza had paranoid delusions about the children at the school and believed he was acting in self-defense by killing them.

Peter's sister, Marsha Lanza, said that Adam had been home schooled after Nancy battled with school system officials. Neighbor Gina McDade said Nancy was a stay at home mom who was not a teacher or part time employee at Sandy Hook. (Source KCTV5) If she had volunteered there it's logical to assume the neighbor would have said it when she made this statement.

Judge dismisses Newtown families' lawsuit against gun maker

HARTFORD, Conn. — A judge on Friday dismissed a wrongful death lawsuit by Newtown families against the maker of the rifle used in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, saying federal law shields gun manufacturers from most lawsuits over criminal use of their products.

State Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis granted a motion by Remington Arms to strike the lawsuit by the families of nine children and adults killed and a teacher who survived the attack on Dec. 14, 2012. A gunman killed 20 first-graders and six educators at the school with a Bushmaster AR-15-style rifle made by Remington.

The families were seeking to hold Remington accountable for selling what their lawyers called a semi-automatic rifle that is too dangerous for the public because it was designed as a military killing machine.

Bellis agreed with attorneys for Madison, North Carolina-based Remington that the lawsuit should be dismissed under the federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act passed by Congress in 2005, which shielded gun makers from liability when their firearms are used in crimes.

As horrific as this crime was, the Judge did the right thing, IMO. The manufacturer is not responsible for the criminal use of their product.

If the lawsuit wasn't dismissed, can you imagine the the flood of suits against the car industry for drunken driving deaths? Or against pool manufacturers for drownings?

Four years ago today. #SandyHook

Check out Jake Tapper's Twitter feed...nice tribute showing photos of the victims of this horrible tragedy.

Hard to believe it has been four years ago today. :(

Interesting story by a journalist about covering Sandy Hook four years ago.

In some corners of America, a conspiracy theory floats about asserting that the Newtown Elementary School massacre never happened. So-called “Sandy Hook truthers” have threatened victims’ relatives; they’ve accused them of lying, and claimed that Gene Rosen – a man who lived next to the school, and in whose home survivors of the shooting found refuge – is a “crisis actor” who made his story up. Some have also speculated that my photographs – the only ones in the public domain – of a victim being taken out of the school in a body bag were fabricated.

Unlike these so-called truthers, I was actually there, in Connecticut, twelve hours after the massacre, observing and taking photographs of the school for the New York Daily News. I know for a fact that the shooting really happened, that my photographs are not fabricated, and that Gene Rosen, who I found broken and sobbing in the bathroom of the town’s diner three days after the killings, speaks the truth.

A Florida woman who believes the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting is a hoax was arrested Monday on charges she threatened the parent of a child killed in the 2012 school shooting.

Lucy Richards, 57, of Tampa, Fla., was indicted on four counts of transmitting threats

GOOD. Those Sandy Hook (and/or September 11th) "truther" people who think the victims are all fake are APPALLING - harassing grieving parents must be about as low as a non-violent person can get.

I think the basis of that particular brand of conspiracy-theorism is actually (paradoxically) OPTIMISM- sincere faith in humanity's inherent goodness. Many of these people, in my experience, are genuinely sweet and caring; to the point that they cannot imagine that another person could be so cruel as to POINTLESSLY MASSACRE six-year-olds (for example).

Their unwavering faith in human benevolence is paired with an equally strong (and equally unwarranted) belief in human intelligence.

So, in their attempts to cognitively reject certain uncomfortable truths, these people end up attributing amazing superhuman competency to hundreds or thousands of conspirators (who were somehow all able to work together to build a fake disaster, AND a near-perfect cover-up, AND also keep quiet about it afterwards).

(All my own opinion from my own experience, of course. :))

It is common knowledge the Bushmaster was found in Lanza's vehicle after it was all over! It's one of the main problems with the shooting that has never been reconciled!

Conspiracy theories often start with this kind of misinformation becoming "common knowledge". Reality is that the weapon found in the trunk of Lanza's car was a Saiga-12 combat shotgun. The Bushmaster was found in the school next to Lanza's body. The medical examiner confirmed that the six adults and 20 children who died at Sandy Hook school were all shot with the Bushmaster. Lanza then shot himself with one of the two handguns he carried into the school.

Yes, for weeks the media reported it was the Bushmaster. Why would such an error be reported as fact for so long? It wouldnt. I saw the original video when it first came out, not the grainy blurry version they now show and the Bushmaster was in the trunk.

I'm not saying nothing happened that morning. I'm saying it didn't happen like they say it did.
