I doubt, knowing FD's controlling, combative personality, that he
would have ever agreed to mediation since those agreements that
I've read generally state that all parties will agree to mediator's
final suggestions. In other word FD would balk at being told what to do. He'd already invested too much "fight" and had to win.

Absolutely agree. The security present at the rental house is important to understanding what protection it offered the occupants and what information the system might have provided to LE. Don't think anyone is questioning or even speaking about the victim here at all.

Discussion of personal security of victim happens on WS whether it be in the car or in the house all the time and I don't believe any here were personalizing the conversation to the victim in this case. The focus of the inquiry into possible GPS data in the Suburban via OnStar and then the house security system reports was to better understand what info LE possibly has in its possession to figure out what happened to JD. No victim shaming here IMO.

We don't have code info for JD system. We just have a picture of a security system control unit in a mudroom.

IMO you can’t have a successful mediation unless you know what you are mediating I.e. financial records (his) it’s a waste of time and very expensive - you pay the mediator and all the attorneys- it’s a useful step for sure IMO -after financial affidavits are filed- to attempt settling aspects of the litigation and avoiding trial

MOO. All these posts saying MT is in danger...I don't agree. If she stays away from him, she will be fine. If she goes back, then she is in his corner and she will be fine. FD is crazy for sure but not crazy enough to add more possible murder charges.

Actually way up thread it was - I’ve been around a long time second guessing a victims choices can be a slippery slope IMO - we don’t have any facts about the system or lack thereof installed -

I wouldn't be surprised if MT's father and mother also scolded her
and forbid her to contact FD or they would cut off their support and money to atty. and bail money. More likely parents who are footing his bill, imo.

Agree with your question here completely. Been thinking about this alot as it seems logicial that he would have just settled for child support, share custody and alimony/other support rather than dragging this case on for 2 years as the less financially secure party in the divorce. Only thing I can come up with is that he had a fixed mindset about the definition of 'winning' and that his definition of 'winning' seemed to somehow encompass punishment and pain for JD as he knew what she cared most about in the world was her children. I also am convinced that FD spent the year before the divorce putting the structure in place to 'loot' Fore Group but then needed extra time to essentially hollow it out financially. My other suspicion is that MT as Manager might just know a bit about some of the games that were used to siphon off fund from Fore. We will see eventually what was done and how much is actually left of Fore.

I guess it would depend on the state. IME, if you can't get an agreement, then it goes to trial and that's where the big money is spent. And you never know what a judge will do, so better to make an agreement. JD attorney should have fast tracked this case as much as possible and forgot about things like health insurance. Focus on the kids and just get it done. But 2 years of court time...the gift that keeps on giving for a lawyer.

NP realizes they MUST get MT back onto their side. She's the
only hope for FD's numerous alibi's. Her coming back into the fold
of FD would make NP's life so much easier. Right now NP and FD
are hanging in the wind without wings.
As I said earlier I don't buy this stuff about "love" and all. Remember she appeared to be assisting in the Farmington backyard. Her atty. won't communicate w/ NP, so NP's trying to
go through the back door cause, you know, women are so weak and
    emotional and all. GAG.
