IIRC JS has already stated something to this effect - That the State has spent so much money on this case that they needed to go after somebody after FD was no longer "available" so they turned their sites on Michelle. Ooops sorry she was already arrested and charged before he effectively killed himself.

All his cross examination was poppycock. You get arrested .. there are processes and procedures. They were done by the book.
She got photographed in her underwear? Oh was she wearing a thong? Cmon JS. Standard procedure done by a woman.
Maybe it rained maybe it didn't. Immaterial IMO.
JS' comment about Andy Bowman - what was that about him -JS indicates AB has been practicing for 50 years - we were prob in high school JS indicates to Kimball - is that meant to mean AB was less than competent and too old and senile?

Despite JS' attempts to paint Michelle as just a damsel in distress, JS's client is not even close to that.

She is definitely not a "faltering petunia" as my Mom would say. She has lived, played and competed - water ski's snow skiing - in highly comptetitive male dominated atmosphere's. She is more than capable of holding her own - as we saw in those interviews.

JS' cross so far is a huge Fail. Glaringly obvious there is no "gotcha" coming from him. Keeping my fingers crossed all the t's were crossed etc in this case thoughout the investigation. So far CT imo has done themselves proud.

Oh my. JS is now claiming VENGEANCE by the State vs JUSTICE?

Time to put on the tin foil hats I guess.

JS brought a bunch of pretrial motions (haven't read any of these) to discredit the defence work of Atty Bowman for MT and law enforcement. I believe these particular motions were part of TP's then campaign to have the MT LE interviews tossed from the trial.

For those interested here is SA article about TP ongoing efforts pre trial to discredit law enforcement and MT prior attorney Bowman:

Quotes:

"The lawyer representing Michelle Troconis for her alleged involvement in the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos in May 2019 is accusing Troconis' former lawyer of mishandling the situation when he was in charge. It is one of several arguments Jon Schoenhorn has made seeking to throw out three interviews Troconis did with state police investigators".

"Schoenhorn is also looking to call attention to the moves made by Troconis' first lawyer, Andrew Bowman. Schoenhorn is maintaining that the lawyer, Bowman, mishandled the initial interactions with police and allowed her to sign a “notice of waiver of rights,” then speak with investigators following her arrest."

Details about Mama Troconis entering the fray on these proceedings as she testified in the prior hearings on the matter:

"Troconis' mother took the stand to describe the day before her daughter was arrested. Marisela Arreaza said state police officers in plain clothes had followed her, Troconis and her 12-year-old daughter, all day long, including trips for lunch, ice cream and a movie."

"State police eventually went to the hotel in Avon where Arreaza and Troconis were staying, and Troconis was placed under arrest and handcuffed shortly before midnight on June 1. Troconis was in her pajamas at the time, her mother said, and she was detained in front of her daughter by police. "She was calling for her mother, she was very anxious, she was crying loudly," said Arreaza."

FWIW its highly unusual to see CT attorneys attacking each other in Court....this is quite interesting but could speak also to the issues available that TP has to work with in this case. MOO

More drama. It's a murder investigation. They need to acknowledge that.

After court adjourned, Schoenhorn told reporters he expected Pawel Gumienny, the former employee of Fotis Dulos' company whom Kimball has suggested Fotis Dulos tried to frame, will testify next week.

Schoenhorn previously has opined that Gumienny, who has been given immunity, will reveal heretofore unknown facts about the case while on the stand.

"You might hear Monday or Tuesday from the employee, Mr. Gumienny," Schoenhorn said, noting that prosecutors are presenting their case and control who gets called to the stand. "Everything's tentative, I hear these things.

Looking forward to this.Moving right along.

For those not from the area here is a graphic of some of the the search locations that was done by SA to show locations.

For those not familiar with traffic in CT it is bad, particularly at rush hour. This would mean in the NC area that there would be heavy traffic going south towards NYC (Merritt and I95) in the am and away from NYC in the PM. Rush can start as early as 2:30 pm in the afternoon during the week too. IDK the Hartford rush but my guess would be that rush towards Hartford from surrounding areas in the AM and away from Hartford in the PM and from as far away as Waterbury possibly. I-84 into Hartford and 1-91 into Hartford will both be quite busy with heavy traffic in the rush periods.

I'll put a google maps down below so if anyone is interested you can get an idea of travel time. IMO rough estimate if the stars align is 1.5 hrs at posted speed from Farmington to NC. FD had a documented speeding history so I would guesstimate 1.0hr-1hr 15 min if he were flying but traffic is usually so dense during normal rush that I can't see even his aggressive driving style having much impact on his timing imo.

Drama is so appropriate!
The defense's cross was only missing the tiny violins playing in the background, when we heard:

"She was arrested at almost midnight, In Her PAJAMAS ", in front of her Daughter" ...I waited for the violins to play.

Nope. Instead, I had a vision.....It was Amber Heard's pitiful dramatic facial contortion immediately after she said in her trial " My Dog Stepped on a Bee".

Gave myself a chuckle, I must say...

In the Jared Bridegan case, his ex-wife Shanna Gardner was also arrested in her pajamas with her kids there in the early morning hours, so it happens probably more frequently than we know. Sorry Michi, your arrest was NOT special.

ETA: I believe they did let Shanna Gardner go back in the house to change clothes after they put the cuffs on her but she was accompanied by female officer.

EST

Thanks for this! Much appreciated. Looks like small cell with rain to me over Farmington at the time referenced. IDK for sure but these look like rain maps. Perhaps what happened is that the larger cell to the left of Farmington moved rapidly over to Farmington eventually and perhaps as a larger cell that was what had the thunder/lightening? Don't think we can do anything but guess on that based on these maps imo. The cell over Farmington looks to be light to moderate rain (which the video from ski club verified). To assess the lightening you'd have to refer to a lightening strike map for the area imo as these rain maps don't really have all the data. MOO Will see if I can find a strike map.
Am I the only one who is doubting the story about MT sleeping with her daughter due to a storm? (even if LE were wrong about no storm) I can believe that it was part of the alibi and was planned, or that MT was so anxious because she knew what was about to happen that SHE wanted to sleep with her daughter.

Aggravating! (Not directed at the OP. Directed at the statements of Mama T.)
The defendant was arrested. For real crimes. Might've been distressing for her daughter, I don't doubt that. Maybe she should've thought of that before helping FD attempt to cover up the murder of JFd.
The defendant is still alive. Her daughter can talk to her freely.
Zero consideration here for the distress of JFd's children.

Well well good catch @Gardenista
The P after checking what the EST shows should hammer him on this. The weather to me is immaterial but deceit from the D to the witness is material IMO

It is very possible there was a stray storm there or not. Does it matter ?
JMO
Yes. @gardinista has a mind like a steel trap! TP has no shot of more exhibits with CST and NOT EST if @gardinista is on the case! Great work!

  • #311
We need to get @Gardenista a direct line to the Prosecution's table.

How weak is your case that your best defense -- to try to show your client told one truth -- is a slight of hand exhibit?

What's the phrase the State used? Bush league?

Swings low. Between desperation and duplicitous.

It reeks of both.

TP has spoken so many times about MT being 'dragged' from Farmington to NC 'in the middle of the night' etc.

Every time he says this I go back and review the charges made by LE and I always see the top of the stack as the Conspiracy charge (treated no differently really than murder charge). Then I think he seems to think that people only get arrested in daylight hours and only with prior notice. Pure insanity imo. IDK where he is going with the dragged out of bed, handcuffed, wearing PJs nonsense or if Mama Troconis is somehow in on some grift with him to sue the State of CT etc. Just seems bizarre line of commentary given the charges being faced by MT along with the fact that she hasn't spent the past 4 years in jail. You would think that with the conspiracy charge that bail would have been higher and she would have been in jail. Nope. She has been free as a bird and doesn't have to stay in CT. I wrote the other day I think the bracelet should be back on and LE should be outside her house in Stamford 24/7 as she always has been and remains a flight risk. If the trajectory of this trial goes as I expect it will, she could easily attempt to flee. Her daughter is 17 so could be taken care of by baby daddy for a year. IDK, little about TP and these random complaints make sense but he is probably doing the most he can with the cards he has been dealt and no doubt Mama Troconis has his feet to the fire too!

The other thing I'd like to add is that TP has made so many derogatory comments about how his client has been treated by various CT LE. Having sadly sad through the painful trial videos now for 2 days I have to say that at no point in time did I see anything but courtesy extended to his client by all that interacted with her in the interviews. She was extended every courtesy even when it was clear that she was following the non alibi scripts AFTER they asked her not to. MT no doubt twisted on the end of every nerve these LE folks had at a time when the only concern was finding JF. MT didn't care about finding JF and what was fascinating was that every time she was asked to help find JF she gave a resting 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 face that honestly should be the new picture definition in the Urban Dictionary imo!

JS also seems obsessed with the MT strip search that took place where she was wearing of all thing a THONG. Wow! What person being booked isn't subjected to removal of their clothes and replacement with jail gear. MT just had to do the body search but then she was able to go home to her hotel bed and not to Bridgeport Jail or Hamden etc. where IMO she should have placed her. JS oddly was the one that brought up RACE as an issue with Albany ride situation but what I find fascinating is that he seems to be preaching WHITE PRIVILEGE as it relates to his client in that she deserved special treatment and for whatever reason didn't get it! Frankly I think MT has been treated with kid gloves every step of the way in this horrendous murder and so to hear the comments of ill treatment by TP is simply a bridge too far. Its when TP makes these comments that I do wish in a way that the case had moved to Hartford immediately as then MT would have been subject to sitting her 🤬🤬🤬 in Hartford jail and not getting $20 deli meal take out selection etc. at the Taj Mahal NCPD lockup. Truly insane imo. If I could I would post a side by side photo comparison of NCPD lockup, Bridgeport/Hamden and Hartford. TO complain about NCPD lockup you have to be looking to pick a fight about nothing as its very comfortable, clean, well lit, temp controlled etc. The same can not be said of the other other locations as if you recall we heard endlessly about the jail conditions from FD about Bridgeport complete with rats nibbling at his toes! FD ended his life allegedly so as not to have to go back to prison and here we have TP and MT complaining about lockup in NCPD. I truly wish attorneys and their clients could be sued for wasting state time and resources. I'm all for a vigorous defence but sadly TP and MT ARE IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

CT has a good bit of crime and news report often show LE arresting people at all hours of the day as I'm sure happens all over the US. The crime occurred in NC so it made sense that MT had to go there for interrogation. If she had been taken to Farmington there was nobody there that was on the case and iirc there were also issues of huge leaks from LE coming mainly from Farmington and Windsor iirc and so bringing her to a local place made zero sense. Did TP expect that a helicopter would be provided to speed the trip? Did he expect LE who had been working for 24 hrs straight and were exhausted to come to Farmington to arrest MT? More insanity imo!

I have been thinking about Kent M. And why the uncertainty out there about whether he will testify or not.
Could it be that a deal was worked out between KM and LE but then Ken decided to try and improve that deal? LE called his bluff ?
LE is waiting to see how the trial progresses before deciding if they need KM or not? KM also prob watching to see what his odds are?
Or fell off the wagon? I guess hard to say.

Hard to say. I think rehab was part of his trial settlement so if he is off the wagon then I think he heads back to the pokey. Curious where he ends up in the trial. He might not be needed and so State is simply telling him to await his trial? We shall have to wait and see! MOO

She told them she'd do anything to help - except she could not do the one thing that mattered - be truthful
IMO
Thinking about your original statement, I think what we have seen in those days of interviews of MT really is obstruction and hindering as she took the main officers leading the investigation AND the States Atty away from the task at hand of finding JF to instead listen to her ongoing lies and obfuscation.

She did what she did knowingly imo and she did it for a VERY LONG TIME. MT was given every opportunity to steer her fate in a different direction but she only had her plan with FD and the Alibi Scripts. MT never wavered and never made any effort to help. Had I been prosecuting I think I would have stacked new charges for EACH of the damn maps that she presented to LE when imo she knew that JF was not at any of those locations.

Here is definition of Hindering:

2011 Connecticut Code
Title 53a Penal Code
Chapter 952 Penal Code: Offenses
Sec. 53a-165aa. Hindering prosecution in the first degree: Class C felony.

Sec. 53a-165aa. Hindering prosecution in the first degree: Class C felony. (a) A person is guilty of hindering prosecution in the first degree when such person renders criminal assistance to another person who has committed a class A or B felony or an unclassified felony for which the maximum penalty is imprisonment for more than ten years and such other person committed such felony with intent to intimidate or coerce the civilian population or a unit of government.

(b) Hindering prosecution in the first degree is a class C felony and any person found guilty under this section shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of which five years of the sentence imposed may not be suspended or reduced by the court.

(P.A. 02-97, S. 3.)

We might be overlooking the obvious. Perhaps FD didn't sleep at all that night. And that's why the defendant struggled with those details.
