Honestly, I still can't fathom that the economy car in the household was the 2008 Porche 911 turbo Carrera

And it probably was only used May to October. Not a car to be driven in DC winters.

I think the money came up short $20,000, and that was the reason for the flurry of calls. Remember W-1 text W-2 a photo of a bag containing $20K. Where was the other $20K?

I think the flurry of calls after the drop is because the $40K was the first installment and SS was working on getting more. I think Wint gave him a noon deadline and SS was doing what he could to gather more cash. Noon came, but no more cash came. Wint then terminated the crime by killing everyone and setting the boy's room on fire (and I'm assuming he thought the fire would consume the house).

Wint didn't realize that it's hard to get a huge amount of cash collected. The $40k, I think, came from stashes of cash that SS and his associates (his accountant, perhaps his father, etc.) had access to by the morning. It's possible the $40K didn't come from the bank (how could it if Driver took a picture of it at 9am, at the same moment banks open?)

After that amount was gathered, I think they went to work to get more, this time from the bank, working whatever angles they could. However, they weren't able to get the more money in time.

This is just my SPECULATION and may turn out to be way wrong. But I think it fits with why SS was still contacting people at noon and why the fire started soon afterwards.

SPECULATION, JMO, THINKING ALOUD.

Thanks, Olive. I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that a neighbor saw a landscaping crew working in the yard Wednesday morning. I wonder if Wint and his accomplices posed as a landscaping crew and that's how they gained entry into the house?
That's my theory too...but someone else stated that the lawncare group was seen around the time of the fire.

I don't think the zillow information is necessarily up to date. The most important thing about that info I found is, IMO, the building permit/s taken out in 2013:
Date & Status Summary
03/21/2013 ISSUED

PERMIT Construction Building Permit For Addition Alteration Repair
Building permit #B1303218 was issued to begin Addition Alteration Repair work on 21 Mar 04:00. It was requested by Daniel Harrison for the purpose of KITCHEN ADDITION, RENOVATION, GARAGE ADDITION, NEW COVERED PORCH, NEW FRONT ENTRY.

Maybe, Apartable has a listing if there is an in-law unit. Anyhow, most important is it occurs to me that they might have expanded the garage to accommodate 3 or 4 cars. And, I think that having the lawyer listed as owner/trustee is one of those things that people with gobs of money do, although I don't know why. If I had as much money as this family has, I am sure I would be advised to do it too.

Anyhow, none of it really matters. I like this family and I am feeling very very badly for the surviving daughters. I am hoping that they have someone looking out for their best interests.

I'm wondering if Wint has been harassing SS for years. In what form, I don't know. But I have a feeling the kidnapping and murders were an escalation of harassment from Wint that has been happening over time.

WILD SPECULATION, not fact.

From everything that I have read, the lawn crew was there on Thurs morning/afternoon, while the group was being held captive inside.

I loved your post...I figured you were of the same opinion on this...now, how do I get a driver's position with no real corporate experience? I could do that for $75,000. I already drive all over the DC area five or six days a week :D But I don't want to be a Corporate Executive Assistant that's for sure.

Thanks Just K :) I read here when I can but often don't have much to add to the discussion.

Also, I don't blame you, sometimes I wonder how and why I ended up in an EA role. When asked to explain what I do, my husband replies it's like a mix between 'Wall Street' 'the Devil Wears Prada' and 'Downton Abbey'. LOL. And quite seriously, you probably wouldn't want to be a driver either. 3am weeekend wakeups for airport pickups, circling the block in rush hour because there are no parks directly outside then getting told off because you weren't there the instant they exited the building, only to eventually lose your licence/job for speeding because you were told they were in a "hurry!!!!" (true story)... no thanks...

Back on topic - if you are in these occupations I just don't see you turning on your employer. So much risk for no real reward. NG also had a lot to lose, from all accounts she ran a successful business for years. "Self-employed" DW may have thought it was a good idea to do such a horrendous thing for some extra cash. But I just don't see why anyone with a proper occupation would risk all that for such a small amount of money - lets face it, tax free or not, a share of $40k doesn't go far these days. IMO none of his staff were involved. If they were I feel it would've been planned much better given their inside knowledge of the family/company and how their finances work. They might be indiscreet, but that doesn't make them psychopathic criminals.

Agree. And DW probably even took pleasure sucker punching/hitting/attacking and finally torturing the SS, Master in Martial Arts.

Does anyone have the link to the PDF version of the charging doc? TIA

A doctor I worked for had 5 expensive cars, but if he KNEW it was gonna rain he drove an old toyota corolla. It was like a pick up truck to him. He took it to Home Depot too! He could have it for something like that.

Someone asked - how do we know "other employee" did not access sd box?

SD box access is very tightly controlled. No key, no access. If sd box owner loses key,
to get contents and/or close sd box a/c, box has to be drilled by special locksmith.
(In dealing w possibly lost sd box key 5 yrs ago, I was told that a locksmith
could not be scheduled for a week or two, also ~$250 charge to me. Fortunately was able to go home & look harder. Also, locksmiths refuse to copy, so no spare. Keep track of sd box key.)

Yes, poss that AIW had BOA sd box, had $40,000+ in it,
and BOA already had docs on file auth'ing a certain AIW employee to access box
& that BOA sd box key was kept at AIW, so employee could access sd box $.
So, poss that AIW could have done that.
But info in Charging Doc contradicts that ^. Per W-1, IT/he saw bk mgr
hand $ to AIW employee, so did not get from SD box.

Also poss - Mr S had BOA personal sd box, had $40,000+ in it, & and BOA already had docs on file auth'ing a certain AIW employee to access his personal sd box,
so employee could access $. Poss that AIW could have done that.
But my stumbling block w 2nd^ scenario is the key, likely kept at S fam home,
seems - AIW employee likely w/h to go to S home to get sd box key.

I take it back. He said there were 200 Moslers built in total. Maybe only 14 of the MT900. My bad. I guess there are other models? Probably like a cheapie version $500,000.

No problem. Who wants a car like that? Certainly can't drive it on most city streets. Speed bumps in parking lots would wreck it.

Found this photo on W1's business' Facebook page. Posted on January 2nd with this caption:

BRC President/Owner Jordan Wallace got to drive this BEAST today! That is a $700k Mosler MT900s, made is the USA, it is basically a LMP car for the street.

The owner wanted a Race Car driver's opine of the car "It's SCARY as HELL in the most fun Badass way!" Sometimes even Broke Racers get to live rich, stay passionate and your dreams will be within reach!

Happy New Year Broke Racers Club!

So I'm going to take a leap and say this is the red car that was in the garage into which the package was supposed to be placed. If it's missing, I would think it can't be that hard to find. It must be either A) not missing or B) LE has an eye out for anyone trying to transfer/transport it. How on earth could anyone sell this car without getting caught?!

I'm pretty partial to our 1997 Toyota 4 Runner. It just goes and goes!

But in the Charging Documents, the part about going to the bank is the first version of what W1 (Driver) told the police. He later changed the story that the Other Employee gave him bundles of money from his pockets and there is no mention of the bank. Both version are in the Charging Documents, and it sounds like the first version about the bank transaction was a lie.

JMO.

I don't believe for a second that perp was ever going to let them go, however much money was delivered.
He clearly didn't want to get caught. I mean, look at him go at the video. He has his hoodie on, you can't see his face, and he is running. He burned the house, he burned the car, and if he liked pizza crust, police still might not know who to look for.

Tried to respond to the comment on the Savopoulos family cars. I knew the family well and Amy drove a Porsche SUV. Not sure anyone has mentioned that car already.
