I never thought about owning one. I have a teen, and often have teens over, so I don't have anything that could get into the wrong hands!

I always wonder how one would work to toast marshmallows. Anyone know? I would love to be able to make smores on the go;)

I do not own a stun gun nor do I know anyone that has one! If fact, I have no guns of any kind. I do not hunt so I do not need a gun!

we have a stun gun here and housemate has a whole arsonal of guns. as he says we have more guns than any of LE that would show up at the door.

Don't have one, don't know anyone who has one. I come from the Edith Bunker mentality that says a big can of cling peaches in heavy syrup lobbed correctly would fall any intruder.

No stun gun in my home, but loaded (with hollow points) pistol and a license to carry. Wonder if the Baker's have any other guns? Wonder if Adam or KB have a gun now?

I wouldn't want to be the one holding the marshmallow stick! Especially if you hit a bump on the go.

So glad you added the "heavy syrup" notation - because that could make a big difference IMO! (Still giggling at your post)

A stun gun? Now that's a great idea! (Just kidding) But we do have a spicy 2 year old that clear a grocery store isle, end a church sermon early, vacate tables at a restaurant and clear out a room of family and friends. She's a loaded weapon all right! Too bad I asked for tap shoes for Christmas.....j/k. ;)

No stun gun here, don't know of anyone who owns one and the nice set of golf clubs should do the trick if the cats don't attack the intruder first. :D

I think the question should be why the Bakers had one in the house. MOO

Thanks for your post -- nine iron or a 7 wood has always been a good weapon of choice.

LOL- we don't even have a toy gun in our house. I'd be more scared about having a weapon like that in my home, than the threat of someone coming in to harm us.

But then I don't live in the country, we've got pretty good security and crime isn't a huge issue where I live. We've only got wanna-be gangsters around here, not the real gangbangers.

We do have guns but we live in an area where there are mountain lions [Black Hills SD]

There is also a baseball bat and 2 dogs I also like the hairspray can[aerosol] and Bic lighter. The hairspray has never been used but it's there if I need it. :D

I don't have any stun guns, but only have a pellet gun which is a real bother to load, LOL. They say a can of Wasp Spray is also a good weapon if aimed at the face, in the eyes i guess in case of any situation that might occur.

No stun gun in my house - but I do have a "pretend" one that someone gave me for Christmas once as a joke. It just makes a loud popping noise, but doesn't really do anything. I thought it was stupid. I received a new shotgun for my wedding anniversary last year and it lives in the corner behind the dresser in my bedroom - not loaded, but I can load it before you can bat your eyes. My favorite weapon is my Daewoo dp51 9mm handgun. I took a class in IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) a few years back, and did very well with my 9mm. My husband has several other guns that he used to hunt with as well as a compound bow. I also have a blowgun that I intend to get good with if I ever have any free time. :innocent: One of my favorite weapons to shoot is my potato gun. It is made from PVC pipe and a charcoal grill ignition system. I use starter fluid or cheap hairspray to start it. If you aren't familiar with them, just go to youtube and search for "potato gun". Lots of info. I had always heard that you could shoot helicopters down with it if you wrap piano wire around the potato. I know it would shoot far enough to bring down a helicopter, but I thankfully have never had a need to do that! You have to love a gun that you can grow your own ammo to shoot!!!

I wouldn't want to get close enough to an intruder to use a stun gun. I've got a 9mm pistol and a pit bull.

I do have a stun gun was a Christmas gift one year, I looks like it would hurt and makes a lot of noise but never had opportunity to use it.

No, I do not own a stun gun nor does anyone I know....but I too have a trusty bat by my bed....JMHO

Penal Code, title 54 Criminal Procedure, Chapter 950 Section 53a-3 Definitions: (20) "Electronic defense weapon" means a weapon which by electronic impulse or current is capable of immobilizing a person temporarily, but is not capable of inflicting death or serious injury.
§53-206. Carrying and sale of dangerous weapons Any person who carries upon his person? an electronic defense weapon, as defined in 53a-3, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument, unless such person has been granted a written permit issued and signed by the first selectman of a town, the mayor or chief of police of a city or the warden of a borough, authoring such person to carry such weapon or instrument within such city or borough, shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars or imprisoned not more than three years or both. No permit shall be issued to any applicant who has ever been convicted of a felony. The issuing authority may request the applicant?s finger prints and full information concerning his criminal record and make an investigation concerning his criminal record and make an investigation concerning the suitability of the applicant to carry any such weapon. Refusal of fingerprinting by the applicant shall be sufficient cause to refuse issuance of a permit. Whenever any person is found guilty of a violation of this subsection, any weapon or other implement within the provisions hereof, found upon the body of such person, shall be forfeited to the municipality wherein such person was apprehended, not withstanding any failure of the judgment of conviction to expressly impose such forfeiture. Any person who has been granted a permit to carry any martial arts weapon pursuant to this section may carry such weapon anywhere within the state. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to any officer charged with the preservation of the public peace nor to any person who is found with any such weapon or implement concealed upon his person while lawfully removing his household goods or effects from one place to another, or from one residence to another, nor to any person while actually and peaceably engaged in carrying any such weapon or implement from his place of abode or business to a place or person where or by whom such weapon or implements is to be repaired, or while actually and peaceable returning to his place of abode or business with such weapon or implement after the same has been repaired.
(b) any person who sells to another? electronic defense weapon, as defined in section 53a-3, shall, within 24 hours after the deliver of such weapon or implement to the person to whom sold, give written notice of such sale or delivery, specifying the article sold and the name and address of the person to whom sold or delivered, to the chief of police of the city, the warden of the borough or the first selectman of the town, within which such weapon or implement is sold or delivered, as the case may be. Any person who violates any provision of this subsection shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars.
SUMMARY: Section 53-206(a) prohibits the carrying of a Stunning Device on the person unless that person has obtained a dangerous weapons permit. However, there are no state-wide permits, only local permits ? the permit is only good in that particular town and would be illegal elsewhere. Anyone selling such a weapon must notify the chief of police with that information within 24 hours of the delivery. Therefore Stunning Devices can be sold and it can be kept in your place of business or home, but you cannot carry it on your person without a permit which is only good within the limits of the city in which it was issued.

No stun gun. Closest we came was that in the past we owned a low voltage taser. Friend from LE gave it to DH. Once the younger kids came along we got rid of that and my guns. Even with a safe, it just didn't seem as safe as I needed it to be so the firearms had to go, taser too.

No stun gun as I would be more likely to stun myself with it. lol. No, we have a mini daschund "lickamonster" (my stepdaughter calls her that) that barks loudly (but has no bite), and and not much else to defend ourselves with. Oh, and a house alarm. I guess we think we're pretty safe where we live.

My father-in-law had a rifle stored at our old house, but it went with him when we moved.
