Elderly Man Broke After Friendship With Garrido

Here's the info from the Contra Costa County Mapping Information Center
About 1540 Walnut Avenue, once the home of Delbert "Jack" Medeiros and now belonging to his ex-wife.



I bolded the transfer date of September 13, 2005 which is when I assume the property was "bought" by his wife. Thus, even if Jack gave his ex-wife a bargain on the house, what happened to that money???

The address at the bottom, 103 Dogwood Ct, Hercules, CA is, I assume, his ex wife Magdalena Miller's address???

Thanks. According to the Elder Abuse Investigator, Medeiros had $25,000 in his checking account in 2005.

The "family" pictures of Medeiros, PG, NG and Jaycee's daughters really bothered me. Apparently, Jaycee wasn't allowed to go on the trips and I wonder how this was explained to the girls and everyone else.

seems in terms of him taking jaycee or the girls anywhere he would take the girls more places then jaycee. from what i've heard jaycee was at his buisness place working, and maybe went to the grocery store with nancy. taking her to san fran people in a big city might recognize her

It's just too bad noone from Adult Protective Services was called in because Mr. Medeiros was not in his right mind when he gave Garrido $1000 for a trip to San Francisco, a trip that should have cost no more than $100 max, and that's just the tip of the iceberg that he bilked the old guy for...

Isnt Mike Shelton the neighbor who stated the locks on his rented home where reversed? Jack did not move out until 2005? When did the Sheltons move in? Was someone locked in that house recently???

My husband and I went to SF to see "Wicked" and then had dinner at a VERY expensive restaurant. The tickets were $250 and the dinner was $250 so two of us spent $500 for one evening. So it is possible to spend $1000 in SF when living an hour away.

However, I'm pretty sure PG didn't take the kids to the theater and a fancy shmancy restaurant!!

Yes, it IS the same house - where Garrido was caretaker was where Jack Medeiros lived. Medeiros' ex-wife owns it now, and rents out this property.

Next door to the creepy house of horrors, investigators - bearing rakes, shovels and chainsaws - searched an area where Garrido briefly lived in a shed while working as a caretaker at that property from 2005 to 2006.
By midday, cadaver dogs were also brought to the site. Two bags of evidence were carted away, but it wasn't clear what was inside or which property they were collected from.

Magdalena Miller, who owns the property next door, said she was "shocked" at the developments at the home she bought from her ex-husband, Delbert "Jack" Medeiros.

Medeiros was forced by a medical condition to move to a nursing home in 2005, and Garrido moved in to act as a caretaker, she said.

"I talked to him on the phone a couple of times," Miller said of Garrido, adding she had no idea he was a registered sex offender. "He said his kids were helping him clean the house." BBM

Just watched the vid and would encourage everyone to do so~

I note that when the reporter is talking about the *advertiser censored* site Garrido visited, there is the shot of a screen with sexyporn.com written on it. Hopefully, LE is looking into that site to see if there's anything "evidential".

Also, did you notice how, towards the very end, there's the shot of a Jehovah's Witness bible with what seems to be a coloring page with a picture of cats, and Jack written in the lower right. Wonder if that was something one of Jaycee's daughters gave him?

No matter what PG's horrific intentions were towards Mr. Medeiros, Jaycee's daughters may have been genuinely fond of him, in that he may have been a grandfather figure to them. This is such a sad story.

I think I should have been more encouraging about watching the video when I posted the link. I assumed the "WOW!" would do it. The whole thing just blew me away and I was surprised it didn't get more attention.

Yes, I did notice the "Bible" and the coloring book page. I tried to get a copy of the pictures of PG, NG and the girls, but I couldn't capture them. It made me sick to my stomach. There are many details in that video and I think the reporter could have been making several things public for those of us that are "digging" deeper into these horrific events.
