I would think so - since the motions hearing was on 10/20 - but maybe the docket is not updated yet.

I shall move him to 10/27 & bump this thread up for you a couple of days before. Maybe the docket will something more.

Friday, October 27th:
*Sentencing Hearing (@ 9am ET) – FL – Harley Don Hiatt, Jr. (2) (July 31, 2018, Davenport, Polk County; tortured to death) - *Christian Martell Thompson (26/now 31) “BF of mom” arrested (8/1/18), charged (7/31/18) & arraigned (8/3/18) with 1st degree murder, 1st degree aggravated child abuse, 1st degree aggravated manslaughter of a child & 2 counts of 2nd degree negligent child abuse. Plead not guilty. No bond. DA will seek DP. Will not seek DP (7/27/23).
Trial began on 8/28/23 for jury selection & Trial began on 9/1/23 & ended on 9/13/23 - for Thompson only.
Judge J. Kevin Abdoney.
Guilty of all charges (9/12/23) regarding murder & child abuse. Sentencing hearing on 10/27/23.

9/15/23 Update: Insert Motions hearing on 10/20/23 @ 9am for new trial motion. Verdict was Adjudication Withheld. A "Withhold" is a special sentence in which the judge orders probation but does not formally convict the defendant of a criminal offense. Florida Statute s. 948.01 vests Florida judges with the authority to withhold adjudication after the judge imposes a probation sentence. Sentencing hearing on 10/20/23.
9/20/23 Update: Motion for new trial filed. Motion to transcribe. 9/22/23: Amended motion to transcribe. 9/27/23: Amended Order granting motion for incurring additional cost of forensic pathology & toxicology expert. 10/11/23: Order to transcribe-granted.
10/20/23 Update: Next sentencing hearing on 10/27/23 @ 9am.
*Shanon Short (26/now 31) “mom” – Status conference hearing on 11/2/23.

Well - not finding any articles on Thompson's sentencing - so @PayrollNerd - I have to bother you - is there anything in the docket about his sentencing?

Thursday, November 2nd:
*Status Conference Hearing (@ 9am ET) – FL – Harley Don Hiatt, Jr. (2) (July 31, 2018, Davenport, Polk County; tortured to death) – *Shanon Short (26/now 31) “mom” arrested & charged (7/31/18) & arraigned (9/11/18) with 1st degree manslaughter of a child, 2nd degree negligent child abuse with great bodily harm, 3rd degree child abuse, 3rd degree failure to report child abuse (<all case# 2018CF007158), arraigned (10/3/18) possession of marijuana & paraphernalia & VOP (Petit Theft) (<Case# 2018-CF000522) (on probation for stealing from Walmart). Plead not guilty. Bond $2K, changed to no bond. Court says $100K bond. No bond reduction granted (3/10/23).
Plead guilty (6/29/19) to possession & theft (#2018CF000522A000XX). Probation revoked (7/23/19). Mandatory $5K civil penalty (8/14/19).
Trial was set to begin on 12/31/20 with jury selection has been continued with no further dates.

10/20/23 Update: Next Status conference on 11/2/23 @ 9am.
*Christian Martell Thompson (26/now 31) – 9/14/23: Found guilty of all charges regarding murder & child abuse & no bill on possession of drugs. Sentencing hearing on 10/27/23 but was cancelled, no new date.

It appears they did everything Oct 27th but I looked at this Nov 9th and there were no changes. I wonder if they just hadn't updated the online info.
