JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Homicide investigators have returned Friday to a wooded area on the Southside where what appeared to remains of a small child were found on Thursday afternoon.
<snip>
Police said it appeared they belonged to an infant or small child.
The medical examiner will try and determine the person's identity and cause of death.
Police said it was too early to say if foul play was suspected,

"We've got, possibly, a scene -- we don't know how long it's been here,"
<snip>
Police said there was evidence of a transient camp in the woods near where the remains were found.
While some investigators continued combing the scene, other officers are looking through missing-persons reports, police said.
