NARRATIVE: On October 11, 1987, at approximately 1:30 am, an unknown white male was struck and killed while walking on State Road 25 southbound.
The man was approximately 45 to 50 years old, 5'11"and weighing 135 pounds.
He had grey eyes, brown hair and a six inch braid in the back and a brownish-red moustache with a red beard with a braid.
The unidentified man was wearing a red nylon jacket, brown pants held up by a white leather strap, a green sweatshirt, blue underwear and grey socks.

That recon reminds me of Lowell Vern Daughenbaugh if he had kept trying to make his way to Texas by hitchhiking after leaving his vehicle in North Carolina, but Daughenbaugh was supposed to have had a ton of tattoos that should have made him easily identifiable.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Lowell Daughenbaugh was last seen packing his belongings into his vehicle in North Carolina on January 5, 1987. He was heading to Houston, Texas, where he planned to contact a friend and possibly find a job driving tractor-trailers. Daughenbaugh never arrived in Texas. His 1973 gold-painted Chevrolet truck was found abandoned at the Dixie Truck Stop off of Interstate 77 in Charlotte, North Carolina in March 1987. None of Daughenbaugh's belongings were discovered in the vehicle and there was no trace of Daughenbaugh himself. The keys were still in the ignition at the time of discovery.

Daughenbaugh has a history of criminal behavior, but there has been no activity under his name since his disappearance. Foul play is suspected in this case.

Good call westy27! he does look like the UID a lot even w the male pattern balding just couple inches off which I don't think is a biggie...but like you said the tattoos.. that is the only thing.
 
Looking at the Daughenbaugh thread I am struck by the fact that he has no DNA in the system despite having several surviving family members (as of 2002). Maybe someone should contact the NamUs coordinator or LE for this case? After all NamUs is supposed to provide collection kits for family DNA at no cost.

Interesting that this uid seemed to have a braid in his beard, but on the picture the braid is not shown......

Yeah I noticed that too at first I thought it was a braid in the back since it was not shown
 
Ok....he had a braid on his back, was bolding, but also had a braid in his beard. Somebody you would remember..or was everybody having that?
