Well, there's some sort of hearing set for today, which may or may not (probably not) be a Jury Trial. It's been almost 12 years! I admit I'm fascinated by the incredible delays here. I can't imagine the money the taxpayers of Florida have spent trying to bring Beau Bruneau to justice for the brutal murder of his mother. A scandal of monumental proportions, imo. The media doesn't care however. I'll keep updating to the best of my ability.

I was shocked and haunted by this murder from the very beginning. Nancy Bruneau's mutilated body was found on the front lawn. Her son calmly told the police dispatcher "she doesn't have a brain, sir." Ghastly. He used a hammer and a brick.
Almost 12 years and no resolution. A scandal any way you look at it. Praying for justice for this poor woman who simply tried to help her disturbed son. He's been deemed competent to stand trial. Get on with it!

The hearing on August 5th set a new trial date of January 9, 2023.

That would be 12 years since his arrest. There have been numerous trial dates set previously, so I'm not holding my breath.

Something nudged me to check on this tonight. A jury trial was held, finally!!
Trial started April 3rd, and on April 6th Bruneau was found NOT GUILTY by reason of insanity, and committed to the Florida State Hospital. He will not be released except by order of the Court.

Finally, more than 12 years after the gruesome and heartless murder of his mother Nancy, there is some closure. May she now rest in eternal peace...
