JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 23-year-old man who was last seen by his sister on Feb. 23, according to the missing persons report.

Human remains were found buried in the backyard of a home in northwest Jacksonville. The family of Sabeion Dowell showed up at the scene.

Remains found in the backyard of a home on Sunny Acres Drive in the Magnolia Gardens neighborhood of Jacksonville has been identified as 23-year-old Sabeion Dowell, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has confirmed.

Sabeion Dowell went missing nearly a month ago. His family has been showing up to crime scenes in Jacksonville, attempting to find out if he was dead.

The deceased seems to have been a very troubled young man. He had a lengthy criminal record in Duval County (burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, drug trafficking, etc.), link below. He was also put on a psychiatric hold at least once as well, according to a family member.

The homeowner said the property was occupied by renters, then by squatters after that. It appears the home where his body was found was located about four miles from his listed residence.

His relatives were going to crime scenes in the area in search of his body, so he had family who cared about him. Such a tragedy to go through.
